Chioda is probably my favorite ref so I’m happy to see him get a figure. Was chioda in the early 90s? I remember him more from The smack down time I’d love a Joey marella who as a kid was one I always remembered along with earl Yessir

I remember him more from The smack down time I’d love a Joey marella who as a kid was one I always remembered along with earl Wikipedia says he started in 1989 but took a break refereeing until '92, and he was the ref for the 1-2-3 Kid match with Razor in 1993 ( CM Tusk beat me to that one ). He's one of the referees I remember most as a kid, along with Earl and Tim White (Joey as well, but of course he died so young); it felt like Chioda always did basically any big match that Earl wasn't doing. Love that he's getting representation in this figure form.

I’ve been planning to make a custom one for ages with a 123 kid head….doubt I’ll bother now though. I just hope they change the arms/ hands from straight arm & closed fists…seems a bit lazy in design.

I'm pleased others are seeing what this truly is - a pyramid scheme.
The Dynamite re stocks and Daddy's were originally meant to be in hand, according to their presser late April - it's now August and still no sign. The Dynamite has also been taken off their website for information.
The Gangrel has been sat on "prototype" now for 4 months with no sign of that getting made anytime soon.
I wanted Chella to do well. But their good faith has totally expired for me.

What they’ve done is try to go too fast too early.
They just needed to step back and get a figure done - they have as many figures in production as much larger more established companies.
Get a figure out for order, get it done - so that s few times then start announcing new figures as others are shipping and production is already underway

Even mentioned on the WIP chart: www.chellatoys.net/comingsoon(Yet this seems to be not updated as bWo is already available for po, Gangrel hasn’t been updated and Valentine is missing completely)

I missed this news until today and am excited by this figure. My only complaint are the hands need to resemble something a referee would do (flat for counting, cupping to raise a hand or an object, or figures showing a one, two, or three.

I wanted Chella to do well. But their good faith has totally expired for me. Early in their creation Chella and I had a direct line of contact and were communicating regularly. During the course of that, he told me that his father was sick and shortly thereafter he went incommunicado. Unfortunately I am inclined to believe that his family situation is greatly impacting his ability to communicate with customers like he wants to and, yes, it's probably also a little bit of "too much too soon." All of my previous communications with him were positive and never gave off the pyramid scheme vibe that, frankly, I get from other producers in the space. That being said, I understand your concerns. I'm also disappointed with how Chella's story has developed, but I'm also concerned about the person behind the line, as I did get to know him a little.

Fair enough, family comes first but they are still putting up pre orders and lots of designs of new figures whilst the majority of figures ordered are yet to be sent out.
So if there was major personal issues I don't understand why they would continue to pump out new content instead of finishing the multiple lines yet to be sorted.

This is the thing, if communication went totally off you could say they’re preoccupied but they are still posting new stuff. The communication hasn’t totally stopped, just the ‘difficult’ communication - if you only have limited time spend it catering for the customers who have paid snd sorting their issues not plugging new stuff

I hate that they put up the Haku for pre-order when nothing's happened with the 7 other figures I've pre-ordered. The FOMO is too strong when these are going for so much on private sales that I can't just pick up later.

What I don’t get is the secondary market is all over the place, the same figures in seemingly very similar condition are going for at times wildly different prices

Sounds like a very sensible move in the circumstances, hopefully takes some pressure off all concerned.

perhaps this is a good opportunity for Chella to switch their business model to using Wrestling Trader as their UK and European fulfillment/distribution service, and just focus on signing, designing and manufacturing the figures?
