Both figures look great, i was a little concerned with how Onita’s right arm would look but it seems fine

Epic still haven’t nailed that Hasbro shine yet have they. My bulldogs were like half shiny half not. These look the same. Shiny in places - dull in others. Hopefully time to fix question is - does it "need" the Hasbro shine? some of ZST's figures have it, others don't
same for G+G, up until the most recent figures, they looked like they were painted with acrylic or poster paint (especially those awful Godwinns)
the plastic was (until recently) very different for each figure, lets hope this series can begin the standardisation of plastic quality and paint quality going forward

I think these two look great, and I love my Bulldogs, but something I've noticed recently is that both of my Bulldogs have these weird cracks in their chests below the neck and between the breast, like a weird line in a sort of upside down L. I can't check how bad it is in terms of being vulnerable as they're still MoC. Anyone else noticed this at all?

It seems as though Epic, FC, and Hasttel are all using the same factory now. Who knows; maybe Mitch snuck Rush in there too. Anyway, there is a good chance we might see some standardization between plastics and shine. The recent livestream from Mitch looked promising as the shine popped nicely on the Bulldogs: I also believe the gloss appearance will never be identical to Hasbro based on the type of plastic they are using. I could be wrong but I am happy with where things are now. If they can make them better, great! I just don’t want to see them with anything less than what we are getting now.

It's kind of a relief that it's not just me 😄 Are yours loose, and if so, is it just a superficial issue as opposed to it being at risk of cracking?

Weird hairline divide on the torsos where one half is glossy and the other half matte. Unpopular opinion but the plastic on these new Epic figs does look a bit cheap looking. Could be just the photos. I know a lot of people hate Zombies proportions but he’s using the best plastic - I read somewhere that Zombie is using the exact grade of plastic used on Hasbros. I also remember a bit of backlash at the time because that type of ABS isn’t very eco friendly these days. Times were different in the 90s I guess!

The zst figs I have definitely aren’t the same plastic as Hasbros.

I also remember a bit of backlash at the time because that type of ABS isn’t very eco friendly these days. Times were different in the 90s I guess! Even if they were the same “grade” (which I do not believe is true), they are not very close to Hasbros. The thickness of the plastic is different to mimic the weight of Hasbros but even so, the tensile strength is noticeably different. I’ve said it elsewhere but if you were to drop one of these more modern figures, the likelihood of it cracking, shattering, or breaking off is less than that of a Hasbro. Many moons ago, I was involved in drop tests for a major company (to see what kind of damage products could withstand and still function). I’ve thought about what it would be like to do that with some of the modern figures but I do not want to damage my own collection to find out lol. Also worth noting: even if Hasbro has their exact plastic recipe today, it’s possible the raw material could be different. The smallest of changes can have a major impact that may not be noticed immediately or can impact the end result in unforeseen ways. For example, my wife was working in the global quality division for a large corporation. One of their plants received a shipment of a plastic material that was the wrong color. The supplier wasn’t going to take back this massive amount of raw material so they settled on using it kind of as a backup in case they ran out of the normal plastic. The colored plastic ended up having nothing but problems: very priority machines had problems detecting issues due to the darker color, the material started to break down sooner under the same storage conditions, and it was less stable to work with. So even with the same process and recipe, the smallest of changes created a major issue which went on to impact an entire region of the world lol. Plastic can be difficult. Changing subjects…are there major changes in the deco for Eddy? I think I have only seen the one pic of factory image and it appears as though the designs on his tights are smaller (maybe less detailed too?). Maybe that is more accurate; I’m no expert. Thought someone else might have caught that or might know what it is supposed to be or why it changed (or if it’s just the angle). Here is the original: http://instagram.com/p/C5sv5WNsZtE
