We need an official "Bitching thread" for people to get all their REALLY BAD venting that goes BEYOND constructive criticisms, because there is a load of that going on. I'd actually be the first contributer to it..."WHERE IS MY HOLLYWOOD HOGAN PREORDER OPTION RINGSIDE!!!" haha. There, it's off my chest...

Overreacting to things should be this board’s motto. This right here should be stickied at the top of the Mattel board 😂

It's simple. When they do a bad job or something looks bad, we should be able to comment on it. We should be able to comment on the flaws or if it a figure is underwhelming. Call it what you want, but just because Mattel people post here doesn't mean they are above reproach. It's one thing to comment about it, it's another to call the entire team lazy. uR jUsT a b00tLiCkEr111

Bray's sweater is bad, looks like body paint. I want those puppets but I haven't pre ordered because of the painted on shirt. While we are at it, the women's top mold bothers me, where they paint around the straps to try and make it work. Also the basic women's hands, one fist, one waving/slapping hand. They all look uniform like mannequins. Man that Wyatt is bad. Business exposing bad. However, not quite as business exposing bad as the character is on television. And I believe I read that its a ringside exclusive (I could be wrong on that). What an exclusive. On the box it could say "Includes highly detailed body paint"

If you're going to/want to be considered the premier company for toys then taking short cuts really shouldnt be an option. I see no reason why creating a unique torso for someone like Tensai or Keith Lee is an option but creating a unique torso for Bray's sweater isnt.
That being said, things like the above dont really personally bother me that much. What does bother me is the continued use of spread sheets. There's no reason Weasel Heenan should have skin tone painted tights on. You literally used the Jerry Lawler figure and didnt even bother to differ from the spreadsheet. Someone please tell me at what point Iron Sheik, Greg Valenine and Erik from Viking Raiders all had not only the exact same torso but the same skinny ass legs.
STOP SPREADSHEETING!!

The amount of people in this thread who get real passive aggressive towards anyone who would have anything critical to say about Mattel's output is kind of alarming. Like it borders on the insane brand-defending stuff that Disney and Marvel fans do. It's a billion dollar company making consumer products designed to get people to buy them. It's not unreasonable that people have a certain expectation of quality when they turn in their money and that's more relevant now than ever because of the pandemic a lot of people drag out to defend the quality of figures being put out. That cuts both ways. Like, it's okay if people think some of the figures suck or that Bill does a bad job with attire choices or that they really ed up by not doing the obvious attires for guys like the Dudleyz, Angle, RVD, the Hardyz, Jimmy Snuka, among others. You don't need to be all "ahaha we need a bitching thread you guys are karens it's a hobby they're $20 figures you're gonna scare steve away and then he and bill will never come to my ING BIRTHDAY PARTY NOW"

There's criticism, and then there is absolute, disruptive, unadulterated, tantrums thrown by a bunch of man-babies in almost every thread in the last 6 months. It's always had little periods of this at this place, to the point where several times I've made the joke that this board is on it's period...but it's gotten seriously bad lately. You couldn't pay me enough to do the job some of the mods and admins have to do, and yeah, it's kind of nice when the people that are actually making what we want check in to see what we want so they can try to do what they can to do it. There's criticism and the over the line crapa lot of people do.

There are a lot of people that are going to complain about aspects of a figure. We can't agree, universally. It can't be done. I wouldn't say I complain about any particular figure. If I don't have an interest in the figure I simply wouldn't but it. Take Fun House Bray. Nothing that could be done to improve the figure, is going g to generate interest for me personally. I love Bray and the Fiend, just don't care for Fun House Bray People are complaining about the WCW Bret, but not going to care because I will buy any Bret Mattel makes. I'm buying what I want.

"Bitching" or "nit picking" is bound to happen and that's completely fine when you're passionate about the hobby but to call them "lazy" is straight disrespectful towards the work and effort they actually make. Way too many good figures to be calling MDT lazy.

Horrible choice of words. If you want to get your point across, just use better wording. Here are some: • Lack of attention to detail • Oversight • Poor quality control Or maybe think to yourself “these are prototype/sample images so I’ll save my complaints for the final product” While I don’t agree with your approach, I do believe that things are being rushed to satisfy all collectors. They have been banging out a lot of figures lately and I feel that it’s the cause of these oversights. I’m sure no one noticed that L8 Warrior is missing the “face paint” art that was on the front of his jacket. With that being said, I wouldn’t bash them and call them lazy over it.

Most people complaining will still buy the figure once it comes out. Same people that probably complain about how bad RAW is but still watch it every week.

No. I think the complaining is justified. The majority on this board are collectors who like to display their figures, so if there are errors in the figures then it defeats the purpose of displaying them! Not to mention the fact that the figures are £20, which ain't cheap so should be held to a better standard. That's just my two cents though, and I'm quite new here so probably haven't been ground down by bellyaching 😂

Given that the audience for that show is like, 1/3 of what it was in 2014...I'd say plenty of people who think that show sucks just don't bother with it anymore.

But realistically, if their thought process was "Eric from Viking raiders has smaller legs than Kofi Kingston" we've got some serious design problems.

Maybe I’m just too easily satisfied but I’ve been collecting wrestling figures since the Hasbro and Early Jakks days so I’m still just happy to have such articulated and detailed wrestling figures. There are times when I roll my eyes at some stupid, pointless error that could be easily fixed but mostly I account certain things to the budget restrictions. Way more figures impress me than not so I’m good

Everybody seems to be picking on Mattel saying they are becoming more like Jakks did.

Maybe, but if we don't call out the problems they are less likely to get fixed. Look at Rick Rude robe issue. Now the chase figure has been found with the robe packed off or separate to prevent the staining issue.
