Some just popped up on Brickseek an hour away and across state lines. Against my better judgment, I’m gonna go check it out in the morning. Keep me in your prayers.

Walmart is an abuse of power. Dishonor on Walmart. I will never trust them ever again.
Another day another action figure launch day botched.
I have a question, is it so hard to make sure brick and mortar retailers and toymakers/toy sellers are on the same page here?
I'm just saying. On a video game launch day, I can go to a GameStop for a midnight launch or pick up the game I preorders. Why can't I do that with action figures like this? Why does AEW, Jazwares market and promote a launch day with this when they can't realistically fulfill it? Why do they have to wait for all these problems to pop up figure there is no August 3 launch day?

Bring those bad boys home I hope you all remember me well. I’m likely going to prison trying to get my hands on a set.

I think this place needs a reminder of how niche their hobby is.

I think this place needs a reminder of how niche their hobby is. Right now, it doesn't seem that niche. Also, AEW Dynamite is routinely a Top 5-Top 6 cable show every Wednesday night.

Collecting wrestling action figures is definitely a niche hobby. The Walking Dead was the biggest show on cable TV for years and the figures could really only be found at Walgreens for a majority of it's run. A wrestling TV show that cant even get a million viewers a week with is definitely a niche product. Comparing a wrestling show to a AAA game release is absurd.

Why do they have to wait for all these problems to pop up figure there is no August 3 launch day? Let’s break this down real quick......ringside, which is one location received there order on Friday, and if you follow their statement waaaaay later then expected, anticipated and when they should have. Now compare that to Walmart, they have to receive their orders, waaaay larger in scale to far more locations but in order to do that they have to first get them to their distribution centers located throughout the us, check them in, they they have to get them worked into their delivery cycle and placed on trucks to get them to the stores. So let’s say Walmart recurved them on Friday when ringside did, imagine the logistical nightmare to get this done. If anything I’m shocked to see stores receiving them this week. Additionally Wal-Mart never came out and stated aew figures would be available on the 3rd, jazzwares did. I chalk this up to jazzwares making a promise they couldn’t keep. There are approximately 4700 stores in the us, that’s 4700 cases of figures. And to touch on the video game comparison, new release games do not come from the distribution center they are shipped direct from the company via ups or fed ex.

At the end of the day, these are flimsy excuses. Jazwares said August 3. AEW said August 3. They said it on AEW Dynamite. If Jazwares said that, why did they say that? Why were they not in communication with Walmart to make sure this would happen? Sega of America made this happen and created Sonic Tuesday and that was almost 30 years ago. It's 20 now. There's no excuse anymore.

Whether I buy them on Monday or Wednesday doesn't really make any difference to me.

Much like the Walmart issue, these shipments were sent late. Walmart store deliveries are designed days out, if they didn’t have stock yet how would they put it on the truck? Do you really expect special treatment because a commercial said 8/3. What in 2020? Has taken place the way it should have? As I stated I’m impressed we will even see them this week. But since tomorrow is Tuesday maybe you should enjoy some sonic and relax

Was wondering when Karen was gonna chime in. The reason you can't get action figures with the same reliability as video games is because of a significant disparity in demand. Also, and I'm sure this has been pointed out in this thread, every piece of media that WalMart gets (video games, DVDs, CD, download cards, records) comes through FedEx, UPS, or the USPS. That's why they can have everything there right on release date. Every other product in the store has to go through their distribution centers.
