I just can’t believe how bad this set is and how it just refuses to go away. My target got in a new case of elites today and I was pumped to find E78 and it’s instead E65. It’s the set that never ever dies. Thoughts?!

I don’t know if it was necessarily the worst selling but I think maybe they made too much of it, thinking Ronda’s first Elite would be in demand. That basic set with her first figure was literally in every single store you went in. I’m not gonna pretend to know manufacturing numbers but it seems like although the set was everything that it was selling. But who knows...

I thought E65 was a good set. I have four of the seven (if you count Sherri), which is a pretty high number for me. Granted, I only paid full price for Roman (and even that was Wal-Mart's $15.88 price point), but still.
I know it's been popping up at discounters a lot lately, but I don't think it's any worse than any of the other sets I've seen flood Five Below/Big Lots/etc. over the past couple of years.

As someone who really dislikes Ronda i agree it. Awful set.

Elite 36 is the winner in my opinion.

Elite 36 is the winner in my opinion. You know it’s a bad set when it forces a DPCI change and that’s what Bray and Bo Dallas from that set did.

EY was the only person I really wanted in the set. Such an underrated figure by the way. I did end up picking that AJ later on for future fix ups and for the belt. Other than that, I didn’t care about the rest. Not even Sherri.

E39 was also the set that just wouldn’t go away We VERY rarely see Elites in my area (including 65!) but waves that I seemed to see everywhere were E32, E39 and E45.

No way. E39 was way worse and literally gave us several “Walls of Sid” pictures that I still see in my nightmares.

E39 was a decent set, Bulldog and Godfather are both severely underrated. Sid was a warmer sure, but he was one of my most wanted at the time.
E65 isn't bad. English was a fun fig and the second chase I picked up, Rusev wasn't too bad, Nia Jax with the different heads was a gamechanger when it came to swappable parts, Eric Young's my favorite of the set, and even the Roman fig was good. Ronda was the only dud but even then the accessories are decent and Sherri was a fun exclusive (Though an update with the new articulation is in order)
I think it's a mix of excess stock and Covid putting a delay in production somewhat. Stores want product to sell, so it might mean an older set.

Packing Sid 2 per case was a head scratcher to say the least. Ah okay, I wasn't aware of the case breakdown. Odd that they do that for someone like Sid but other legends or highly sought after figures only get 1 per case. I'd really like to be a fly on the wall during these case breakdown discussions. I'm sure budget has a lot to do with it, so that could possibly handcuff them at times.
