Let's see how smart this idea is 12 to 14 days after the show. lol But, it's AEW, so it's all good. Was there any real fallout from the Warrior Wrestling or GCW shows that Khan was looking at to decide to do this? I haven't really heard of any issues and those were both a couple of weeks ago now

Very random off topic comment here, but why the hell do people on the news i.e. reporters wear masks and theres literally nobody near them. I find it silly. Thats the new normal. Weird. I would assume (and I'm totally guessing here) that's it's just an attempt to normalize the behavior since so many Americans are quite opposed to it I guess it is called television programming for a reason, huh. lol AEW got it good with Dailys Place as a venue, open air, should literally be the safest possible option to have fans.

Not sure what to think about this, i assume the crowd will be tested. Feels too soon especially after that Jericho embarrassment. Hope it goes well though for those involved.

The Jericho thing was fans bunched together for a stage, this is an open aired venue, with distancing in effect, "pods" of people, so if one "pod" is infected it at least lowers the % of another pod getting it, since they shouldnt be interacting. Throw in masks as well, it seems safe to me. I would attend if I could.

Now I want to see what happens when the inevitable happens and someone tests positive after something like this. I've seen all the stats and I don't believe this "disease" is going to wipe out the world. But after everything that happens with Florida and the rampant cases they always seem to be reporting. Is this really a good idea?

I hope it goes well and everyone will be safe! I liked what Warrior Wrestling did, with the fans on a football field. Looked great! I think it would be awesome if a promotion could put on a show in a old drive through cinema. With crowd distancing and the show shown on a huge screen.

I like that idea. What was that WCW ppv hog wild ? But instead like a drive thru version of fans in cars would be sick

What card would you all have for the first "full" crowd back?

This is how you promote the brand. Champions up front. Legends on top and center. The Main Attraction feud, featuring the EVPs, to round off the image.

He was right! Mox does have everyone against him. Crap, does this mean we should be believing Britt Baker's conspiracies too?

You guys seen Tony Khans tweet about people reselling the pod tickets? Heβs not playing when it comes to safety. A real good brother.

I am disappointed that they're not doing a blood or swab test to incoming fans, but they're distanced from each other and more importantly the wrestlers. So far TK is handling this well, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I'm not surprised they aren't testing, they weren't testing the 'friends and family' fans either when they had those come in. The one thing that will always help, is it's going to be almost impossible to link any cases directly to this. If you're coming to live wrestling, you're clearly comfortable being out in public, so it's not the only place you could have caught it. I.e. no real liability risk if they're following legal guidelines.

So the US has 382,200,000 people roughly.
We have according to most recent statistics 5.6 million cases of Coronavirus, this number does not distinguish people with multiple positive tests or false positives.
We have had roughly 174k deaths, although we do not know the numbers of died from Coronavirus versus died with Coronavirus. Ex. I knew someone with Stage IV lung cancer who died and had a positive test.
Letβs just take these numbers at face value.
As a percentage of the general population, only 1.7% contracted Coronavirus. As a percentage of the general population, only 0.05% died from issues surrounding Coronavirus. Furthermore, if the 5.6 million that tested positive, 3.1% died.
There are things that kill more Americans annually. While I understand the need for common sense, weβve gone overboard. I think attending a wrestling show will be ok.

Is this really a good idea? *shrugs* Almost this entire board expressed their disappointment in Jericho last week, so if this leads to an outbreak of any kind logic tells me we'll all be ripping AEW, too. Plus keep in mind, a lot of the criticisms directed towards the WWE was that they weren't testing people who were coming into the PC. That's a negligence AEW hasn't shown yet, but if they do I'm sure they'll be called out for it. A great tag division and employment of Hikaru Shida won't change that. lol and now in this thread I read that they weren't testing the family and friends who came in? That's not good.

Well this better then WWE's way of virtual crowds which to me looks like a giant TV game.

Well this better then WWE's way of virtual crowds which to me looks like a giant TV game. I'm sure when WWE starts selling tickets they'll keep that wall of digital fans and put the live crowd behind it. It'll be interesting to see (if this goes well) where AEW will put additional fans and how close some people will get to the ring.
