Officially there's only Moxley/MJF, Jericho/Cassidy, Omega and Page/Gauntlet winners, and Shida/Rosa

Even though there's only a handful of matches announced, it's shaping up to be the strongest card they can produce with the talent they have right now. Top face Moxley vs Top Heel MJF, the two most over tag teams on the internet, the two best women wrestlers AEW can afford, a battle royal that actually has intrigue and stakes. This has major potential for being a great WRESTLING PPV vs the trap they sometimes fall into of PPV's bring youtube highlight reels

We also have either scu/pp or Jurassic Express/bucks. Plus battle royal for pre show. All but confirmed Britt/swole as well.

They just added Sammy vs. Matt in a 'broken rules' match. Don't really know what a broken rules match is, but Matt said if he loses he'll leave.

This card feels thrown together, but there are quite a few highlights.
Mox/MJF, Omega and Page/FTR, Casino Battle Royale, Baker/Swole, and Shida/Rosa are all strong additions.

It really does honestly. They had between late May and now to build this better. I guess with Fyter Fest and Fight For The Fallen that kind of interfered. Hopefully next Wednesday they start building the November ppv. If fans are still around later this month maybe they do Blood and Guts?

Depends, I mean we have been waiting for the MJF title shot and that’s been built up. It’s less about Mox vs MJF in some long running feud so that might be a reason. We have been slow playing the Omega/Page who is gonna turn and the Four Horsemen angle potential for a while and that might be coming to a head. Swole and Baker have been building for some time.

It's so weird, because on the one hand, I totally agree it can kinda feel thrown together, but at the same time, it feels like they've had a fair amount of it planned. It's like now that they know they have fans (and could tell they were close) they decided they could start pulling the trigger on a few stories, so we got a "rushed" build of totally planned scenarios if that makes sense?
Also on another note, if anyone knows who BWO is on here, head over to the WFLounge section, check out BWO's threat Ouch and send some positive thoughts his way. Dude had a fractured ankle lead to clotting and is dealing with a pretty serious health scare right now. I'm sure he'd appreciate some good wishes from the AEW fam.

I read so much about Cody, Omega and the Bucks being selfless and letting others shine.
So can someone please explain to me why Bucks vs Jurassic Express is going to end up on the PPV with no story or build when you have the Santana/Ortiz vs Best Friends match happening on Dynamite? And 'because the Bucks have to be on the PPV' is not a legit reason. At least build a story if you're so desperate to have them on.

And 'because the Bucks have to be on the PPV' is not a legit reason. At least build a story if you're so desperate to have them on. So it's a fair question, and I'm obviously guessing with my answer since I can't read their minds, but here's my interpretation. (Yes we both know technically it could still be SCU vs. Private Party at the PPV, but we all know that's not happening lol) To be honest, I really thought P&P vs. Best Friends was destined for All Out in a no DQ match. I suppose it still could happen there might be room to squeeze one more match on there. That said, they are trying to have some feuds have the payoffs actually happen on dynamite. Some feuds have the build to a ppv, some have the payoff on dynamite. I agree I think P&P/Best Friends should have been the PPV feud, but it is what it is. They have dynamite stories and Dark stories that can have the payoffs on those shows. I like that in general. I think the limited story with this match to get the Bucks vs. J.E. on the ppv is that getting on the PPV is a goal worth fighting for. I agree it's not the best build, and I think they could have done better with that. But I do appreciate that they're establishing that making a PPV is a goal worth fighting for. While this way does theoretically keep P&P / Best Friends off the PPV, it puts J.E. on the PPV, and J.E. have a chance to shine a lot in the match. Regarding the first part of your post though, I don't think that has anything to do with this. All 4 of those people have done exactly that. Cody put MJF over in their grudge match, and put Brodie over with the TNT match. Omega was losing enough prior to the tag run that people were complaining. Same with the Bucks. The Bucks lost to Private Party in the tag tournament for the belts, and have lost a ton of big matches since. The Elite were losing enough that people were actually complaining they were being too selfless in putting others over. They really can't win. If they lose, people complain they're being too selfless, if they do something to help themselves, other people complain they're just booking themselves to win. Which is all hilarious because Tony Khan is the actual booker. Bucks & Omega & Cody obviously have influence, but the buck stops with Khan and it's his show, not theirs. He's been very clear about that many times.

We have had plenty of build for this, but it’s been long build ups of character arcs and development, versus traditional feuds.

This thread went off the rails, so I made a preview.
Moxley has had a dominant run in AEW thus far. The man is unstoppable, especially after winning the AEW Championship. MJF has put together a very calculated and risk-adverse path to being the number one contender. Will Mox's reign end here? Is it MJF's time to be on the top of the men's division? Does Moxley even need the Paradigm Shift? Does Wardlow tip the scales to MJF's favor?
A little bit of the bubbly meets the laid back, simple taste of orange juice. Mimosas are great. A Mimosa match? Yet to be seen. Chris Jericho and Orange Cassidy meet in this rubber match to determine...something. An apology? Who pays the dry cleaning bill? Let's just go with who's the better in ring.
In what should be match of the night (and the main event tbh), Omega and Page face their fiercest foes yet in FTR. Omega & Hangman have been the best tag team in 2020. FTR are not only the top contenders, but they've brought back and breathed life into old-school southern style wrestling that no one in AEW has been able to stop. With tension rising between Adam Page and the Elite, will FTR use that distraction to walk out with the titles? Can the partnership between the champs continue if they lose the belts? The post-match should be explosive no matter who wins.
Champ vs Champ. Shida has conquered the AEW women's division, now we'll see how she fairs outside of the promotion. Thunder Rosa is a major player in US women's wrestling and is your NWA Women's Champion. In this intriguing inter-promotional match we will see these two collide. Will Hikaru continue her winning ways, or will Rosa walk out double champ and bring AEW's title back to NWA?
In what started as a potential mentorship, Matt and Sammy find themselves in a battle that could change the trajectory of their careers. Matt Hardy's (HOF) career is on the line. Sammy is a rising star who could use this match to slingshot him into top contention and be the man who truly broke Matt. Both men have been attacked and bloodied. Their table match was fast and vicious. Who will be the last man standing?
The Dark Order have finally found the success they've been chasing thanks to the leadership of Brodie Lee. Unfortunately, that came at the cost of former TNT Champion Cody. With victory not being enough, Mr. Brodie led an attack that has sidelined Cody for the foreseeable future. Seeking retribution, Dustin Rhodes, QT, Scorpio Sky, and Matt Cardona will face the Dark Order in an 8-man tag match. Can this ragtag team be able to stop the momentum of the Dark Order, or will Mr. Brodie and the boys be celebrating in the back with some Chili's? Could this be Cardona's last AEW appearance? Will Colt Cababna finally sees the Dark Order for what they truly are?

I'm so intrigued by that 8 man D.O. tag. A lot of interesting implications for what seems like a random match. SCU has had serious Dark Order history with Daniels being accused of being the exalted one, and Boom Boom Cabana actually being the guy who came out to help SCU fight them off at one point. Having Sky directly against Cabana there is super neat and not random at all. Cardona gets his first PPV match in the company (and certainly not his last. Judging by the way he talks in his vlogs his per appearance thing is more that they're navigating what the contract will look like and not if there's going to be a contract). His presence is obvious too with the Cody connection and being out for blood for Cody. I know people aren't crazy about QT, but the dude stepped up big time during the pandemic, not only wrestling a ton when they had almost nobody, but bringing in his wrestling school talent to be used as a bunch of enhancement talent, I think this match is very much a reward for his work there. Plus he's an easy fall guy if the Dark Order wins.
I'm super curious about what happens at the end of the Rosa/Shida match. I can see a few things, including potentially Tessa showing up. (If she shows up, I'm betting she comes out with both Ivelisse and Diamante as a 3 woman beatdown, and Rosa/Shida have to round up a third for that feud to kick things off). That's definitely me fantasy booking, but it's 100% plausible.
Counting the hours until showtime. Glad we get Dark on Friday too.

And 'because the Bucks have to be on the PPV' is not a legit reason. At least build a story if you're so desperate to have them on. The Bucks vs Jurassic Express match is based on rankings, just as the SCU vs Private Party match would have been since those 4 teams were available and not in other matches already. This is basically a number one contender's match AND it gets the Bucks on the card. With the rankings being established, THAT'S the story. Based off of the finish from last night, Proud and Powerful vs Best Friends is far from over. I think the reason why they're not on the show is because they'll be featured in the Jericho/Cassidy match. Would I have preferred a match at All Out? Absolutely!

Just so everyone is prepared: The Britt/Swole match will be more or less a 'cinematic' match. It's pre-taped at Britt's dental office. Falls count anywhere. Not sure if it's going to have any comedy or be more of a badass brawl type, but just so y'all are warned lol. No word on the Mimosa thing. He also said he thinks it's going to be the best wrestling show of the year, so I think outside of that we don't have to worry and it should be a great night of actual pro-wrestling. He put emphasis on the wrestling part of that judging by the reporter quotes. I know some of you are really against cinematic stuff, I kinda fall in the middle where I have liked some of it and down right hated others, but I thought the few of you that hate it best have a heads up so it doesn't catch you by surprise and ruin what should be a fantastic show.
He also said he looked at this years casino battle royale as a big kind of 'holy crap look how far we've come in a year' kind of thing when considering the roster for it compared to the first casino battle royale they did.

Yes his conference call and podcast with Aubrey & Tony. I haven't listened to the call yet just read the reporter's cliffs, but I listened to the podcast.
