NXT announcer Mauro Ranallo and WWE have confirmed he’s leaving the company. Ranallo shared a statement on Facebook saying: WWE released the following statement in regards to Mauro’s exit: Ranallo had been doing commentary for NXT remotely from home during the pandemic. He was not part of TakeOver, however, and last week Wade Barrett was featured on commentary alongside Vic Joseph. Barrett is now reportedly in talks to join the show full-time. So, one of the better announcers that they actually had left in that company, and he’s gone? I don’t know the reason for his departure, when he asked for his release, or whether WWE decided on their behalf to mutually end ties with him, but... 🤦♂️. So who’s gonna be the voice on NXT now? He was the best announcer on that brand, and pretty much one of the best they’ve had in general, in recent years. Was easy to stomach.
Edit: Saw above that Barrett may be considering his position full time now. That’s cool, but I’ll still miss Ranallo. Had great energy on commentary.

Honestly he started to annoy me towards the end. I always loved Mauro most of his time there but it got to the point where every time someone else tried to talk he ended up cutting them off and talking over them.

Thank God. He wasn't too bad doing MMA and NJPW commentary, but he just pushed all his dumb references over the top in NXT to the point where he was unbearable

Mauro in 2016 for WWE Smackdown was amazing.
Mauro in his first year or two in NXT was amazing.
The last few years of Mauro have been horrible! Just constant catchphrases and talking over everyone and screaming. I am glad to see him gone to be honest.
I did not miss hearing his voice at the last TakeOver show, nor will I miss it at any future ones.

Mauro was their best announcer. He was too good for them. I’d love to see him in AEW. JR won’t be there forever. He’s pushing 70.

His mother is very sick and he went to British Columbia to be with her. He realized that he just is doing too much and decided to leave Wwe because it’s an every week thing. He also wants to be involved in more mental health awareness stuff and needed time. Doesn’t sound like a return or special guest window down the road is out of the loop.

I like Mauro, but he can be a tad over the top at times. I didn’t dislike him, but his commentary style is an acquired taste that I personally didn’t care for. |

I used to Like Ranallo but he ended up being made into a catchphrase machine like Michael Cole and nothing felt genuine other than the raised voice. Mauro was their best announcer. He was too good for them. I’d love to see him in AEW. JR won’t be there forever. He’s pushing 70. Yeah I think Mauro under the more laid back less serious commentary of AEW could be good |

He was the worst commentator I'd ever heard. Worse than the "uh oh" lady from Wrestlemania 2 and Art Donovan combined.

I know its a mixed bag when it comes to people liking him. But I personally loved the enthusiasm he brought to the matches. He made me care about matches I really shouldn't have and he made everything seem important. I rather have a unique, over the top personality like him on commentary then the bland Michael Cole clones they are turning everyone else into. Him and Nigel were also magic when they were put together. They gelled well and made for some fun commentary. Definitely will miss him while that new guy is on NXT. (Not Wade Barrett, the other guy whose name I don't even remember.)

Good for him! I wish him all the best. It'd be great to see him go back to a combat sport and do regular announcing (not the over-produced sports entertainment version). The guy is a very skilled commentator.

Moro Ronaldo I called him, easier to say than his proper name for me anyway. He was ok but never much cared for all the hokey catchphrases...malfunction at the junction etc.

He made Gargano matches 300 times better.

I’d rather have someone over the top that sounds like he actually cares and has a personality over the near animatronics they roll out for every other show.
