I ended up finally picking it up today, and I'm enjoying it. I was on the fence with it, but playing some of the beta, I did enjoy the gameplay of it, and I'm not one of those people that was upset because they didn't look like the MCU versions (hate that for many the movies are the be all, end all for the looks). After watching reviews and talking with some people that did have it, I decided to pull the trigger and got it at Best Buy and got the store steel book free. It's not a perfect game, but from what I've played so far I'm enjoying it. While I've never read any of the Ms. Marvel comics, I have to say I like Kamala Khan. From what I've seen in the story so far, I like the character.
Ms. Marvel being in the game is the only reason it's come across my radar. Easily one of the best new characters Marvel created in the past decade. Highly recommend her solo books and am glad to see she's been pushed more outside of comics as well as of late. I could see myself getting it if it goes on sale or if my friends get it and push me to buy it to play co-op, but it's not a high priority right now.
I'm a sucker for comic book video games but so far this game is just pretty meh for me. That said, I could definitely see it being amazing in like two years so I probably should have just waited (especially since I never got the pre-order code for the classic costumes lol).
I have to say, after playing Guardians of the Galaxy, I feel that's the type game that Avengers should have been.
Are you liking it? I picked it up for $25 for Christmas.
I've enjoyed it. The combat is simple, but I still think fun, and the fact that you can direct your team during battle is a big plus. It's something I think Avengers could have benefited from. Your team will fight, but you can also have them do a specific attack when it's ready. I like the story too, and I think the characters are well done, with a feel of the MCU versions, but not complete copies of the movie counter parts.
