Booking wise this is something that I find annoying. Seth Rollins can put out peoples eyes and nothing happens, Bayley obliterates Sasha Banks and no one tries to stop her. But if Mcintyre surprises Orton with a claymore officials swarm the ring to stop him.
This is something that happens quite regularly, heels are free to deliver beat downs, but faces are restrained by officials in similar situations. It's one sided booking that has become too obvious over the years.
Back in the day if Austin were it that situation he would've give them all stunners before continuing to kick his victims ass.

As a "face", SD Live Commissioner Shane McMahon abused his power by physically assaulting one of his employees (Owens) while demanding referees to stay back, which undoubtedly raised concerns about their job security had they intervened. And of course, Roman Reigns has not only manhandled refs during his tenure. He has accosted officers of the law. Never forget:

That's your problem looking for logic in WWE. Just like how Randy Orton is Number 1 contender despite losing at Summer Slam. but in WWE land you lose clean you are in a number 1 contenders match barley a week after. in what world does that make sense. True, losing a title match clean should send you to the bottom of the ladder.

My guess would be, if faces constantly took out the heels, there would be much less desire to see the face give the heel their comeuppance.

it would be far better if it was more cohesive, but wrestling has always had fairly glaring holes in it logically.

Undertaker can crucify his opponents and nobody stops him.
Yamaguchi-san can choppy choppy pee pee and nothing happens.
Sable wants to fight Luna, and officials come running out to stop them!
It’s one side booking and it’s become more obvious in attitude years.
This has always been a part of wrestling, and it’s very silly to get upset about it decades after it has been a thing. It’s like getting upset about how nonsensical Irish whips are. Heels do vicious beatdowns to get heat on the babyface. The babyface is restrained from getting revenge to build excitement for when they do finally get their hands on the heel in a match.

Don't try to apply logic. People get defensive.

This is one thing I forgot to put in the wrestling annoyances thread recently. It’s one of those things I guess you have to accept as a wrestling fan because it will always be like that.
