Figured we could use one of these. Dark doesn't exactly warrant a weekly threadhead since not many of us watch it, less live I'm sure, but it's definitely going to continue to play a prominent role, and I think it's likely worth having the thread. If it doesn't gain traction oh well.
Tonight's episode had some solid moments.
Will Hobbs picks up his 2nd win in quick fashion. Between the 2 wins and the battle royal prominence, I think we'll be seeing him under a longer contract deal before long.
Avalon/Cutler had the predictable but necessary finish for their first clash. Love that they teased it a couple times first too. Decent match.
P&P Continue to look threatening and all business.
Dani Jordyn is one to watch for sure. She's got the psychology stuff down beyond her years, and imo has something special about her. Still young, lots of room to grow too. Now granted I'm a huge Penelope fan so that may have swayed my opinion in this particular match, but Dani looked really good her last appearance too.
I could not stand Rache Chanel the first 2-3 times I saw her, but the last couple of times, she's started to kinda grow on me. I still hate the gimmick but she's proving she knows what she's doing in the ring little by little.
The cake dude from BTE wrestled Cage tonight. Turns out he's actually a competitive eater, ranked something like 18th in the world. (I was today years old when I learned there were world rankings for competitive eating).
Despite the large card (11) the time passed pretty quick tonight, at times their larger cards can feel like forever to slog through, but there's more and more matches that matter each week as they use less and less enhancement talent.

Starting off with Brandi wasn't a great way to hook me. lol
Butcher and Blade looked good. I liked that finish even if Blade didn't make the knees believable.
Penelope looked good. I think she'll still have a consistent spot when the rest of the roster can come back.
I liked Cage destroying that cake pervert Ronnie. lol Seriously though, Ronnie has a good look. He could be a guy to keep an eye on if he drops the people's food elbow...
Santana & Ortiz vs Griff & BPJ was more fun than I thought it'd be. Santana & Ortiz need to keep being build as a badass, no nonsense team.
Sorensen vs Hobbs was decent. I think Hobbs has enough to be a guy on the main roster, but he doesn't seem like a big deal yet.
Ivelisse & Diamante are a good women's team, but I still have a feeling AEW's relationship with Ivelisse will end terribly. I hope I'm wrong.
Cabana vs QT was good. I'm crazy into Colt in the Dark Order. Can't wait to see how this plays out.
I liked the finish to Cutler/Avalon, easily the highlight of the match. Nifty little back and forth, but both guys left stuff on the table for a re-match.
Best Friends looked good. It's cool that they're constantly in the Rankings and they haven't received a huge push yet.
Main event was a fun multi-man tag. Dark Order looked pretty good.

I rarely watch anything from Dark, but I had to check out Cutler vs. Avalon. I had a feeling there wouldn’t be a winner. Whenever they’re going to have a real winner they should throw them a bone and have the match on Dynamite.

Couple of interesting matches next week from a "is somebody signed" perspective.
Kilynn King vs. Serena Deeb. Certainly would support Jericho thinking Deeb was signed now.
Ben Carter vs. Lee Johnson. Lee did the stuff with MJF's campaign and has been on Dark forever, but Carter also has a match on dynamite with Sky. Should be an excellent match.

Definitely some filler tonight, but a few matches stuck out.
Womens match was strong. I'm firmly in the camp that thinks king (and dani Jordyn) both need actual contracts. Serena looked like a million bucks again. What a good signing. Could definitely be a major player in the division. Was gonna say match of the night.
Then Carter and Lee showed up. Them boys can go. One of the best dark matches ever I think. Long term two guys that could really make an impact.
Main event was solid but tough to follow the match before.
Blackwood and Garcia looked good with sonny and janela. Think it would have been hilarious if they actually started going by midnight Express. Corny hair would fall out.
Solid enough night, but I would've hoped for another roster roster match or more than one women's match.
Love Veda on commentary. Hope she can do the second show when it launches.

Decent episode, but Carter/Lee was by far the standout match. It'd be great if both were signed to the main roster.

Pillman and garrison got their first win tonight. Wonder if pillman has fulfilled his mlw obligations now. They make a good team would be a nice addition to the tag division.

Couple of good matches tonight, and more roster vs roster matches than usual tonight. I'd like to see dark like that more consistently than just jobber matches. Fenix is so damn creative it's awesome. I know hating Brandi is the cool thing to do but she had a really good match with kilynn King tonight.

I know hating Brandi is the cool thing to do but she had a really good match with kilynn King tonight. i dunno if i would consider hating on brandi being the cool thing to do necessarily. i think it's moreso that as a collective, most of us agree that she should be a LOT better than she proves herself to be by now. anyone can have a good match seemingly out of nowhere, but more often than not, her stuff is kinda dreadful. i haven't watched dark in a long time, but hopefully it's not just a one-off and she's finally improving. |

Really, really interesting dark card this week. I think aew has signed some more people to at least short term deals. I'm loving these huge dark cards.
