I keep seeing this place on "Top WWE business failures" lists. It seems like a lot of people aren't aware that WWF New York and WWE Niagara Falls are very different things. WWF New York was run by the company themselves and WAS a business failure, losing a lot of money and only lasting about three and a half years. However, WWE Niagara Falls was actually owned and operated by Canadian Niagara Hotels Inc. - who were inspired by the WWE store in New York. WWE just licensed their name to the place, and maybe helped with a few things surrounding fulfilment with merchandising etc. That would explain why a lot of merch was so out of date. I heard Mickie James went to Niagara, and a bunch of the guys at WWE HQ were shocked it was still there. It had little to do with WWE, and was a great way for the company to promote themselves.
Was WWE Niagara Falls a business failure for WWE? Nope. In fact, it must have done quite well being open for nine years.
What's everyone's thoughts on the beer store there now? There is still the trussing on the upper floor, and you can still see the WWE logos on the sign panels outside, however faintly.

I was only at WWE Niagara once, the summer going from Jr. High to high school. I remember being shocked at how expensive everything was.
Whoever owned it though, I think it can be looked at as a loss for WWE. It can definitely be taken as a failure on the brand. It's why things like Disney rarely ever lend out their brand to anyone who isn't them.
