Recently, I've been thinking about. How street dates on the legends sets. Have stop scalpers from hoarding all the legends figures from the new sets . Should street dates be place on more store exclusive sets in future to deter mass reselling. Legends 7 was street dated July 26, 2020 legends 8 has been street dated November 1, 2020 Legends 9 will most likely have a street date.

Having things street dated gives the scalpers an idea of the exact day they should show up and expect to find the figures.

Seems to be a Target thing as opposed to a Mattel thing. Though it would seem the vast majority of stores didn’t sit on Legends 8 due to the street date. Seemed to only be an issue if someone asked them to check stock. Once they were put out they weren’t locked out at the register.
I want to say the Network Spotlight set also had a street date for the first series that Target got. Or maybe I’m thinking of the Royal Rumble set.

Mattel didn’t street date the Legends. Target’s Corporate did so they have the product for the next reset which are supposed to start this week.

So I went to two local Targets yesterday. One had 7 Heenans and 3 Razors, the other 4 Heenans. With the street date set for today 11/1 should I be there when the stores open?

My Target stores will usually sell with or without a street date. I give them the number & they bring out the case 99% of the time.

I’m going in less than an hour, if I don’t see them on the pegs what number do I give them to look in the back? Do I mention the “street date” being today or is that our slang?

I was unable to buy Decade of Domination yesterday because of a street date so if they keep doing it I’ll probably stop buying figures at retail altogether

I had them take legends 8 away from me at checkout because of street date. Same with some Star Wars two weeks ago. They shouldn’t put it on the shelves if it has the street date.

The issue with the street date Target has the same DPCI number for Legends 7 and 8, so there stupidity is once again showing as the regular 5 piece case has no markings on it. If the display shipper says do not sell until that date then its fine to enforce the date if they dont put out the shipper but once they take the cardboard off of it its just the regular dpci.

Even though they have the same dpci ones in the back (New assortment) are supposed to flagged in their system when they come off the truck. I think it has to do with the barcode on the case. And those are supposed to be held on their reset pallets in the back. But sometimes there’s an employee who unknowingly puts them on the pegs so they will ring up without an issue. It’s only when you ask them to pull it from the back will they see the street date in their system.

Wrestling figures should not have street dates, they’re not attached to a movie or show with a release date that would require keeping spoilers from occurring
