In no particular order.... Bob Backlund losing the WWF title to the Iron Sheik. Hearing Jimmy Snuka talk for the first time when he did his face turn on Buddy Rogers' Corner. Reading about Bruiser Brody being murdered. Hearing David Crockett & Tony Schiavone announce Magnum T. A.'s car accident. Reading about Nancy Argentino's death in our local newspaper & not hearing it mentioned by the WWF or any wrestling magazines. Never has a username made more sense

1.) Hulk Hogan turning heel 2.) WWF buying WCW 3.) Mankind being thrown off the cell (and then everything afterwards too for that matter) 4.) CM Punk saying ROH and New Japan Pro Wrestling in a promo on RAW 5.) Edge returning (i mean the writing was on the wall after he speared elias the summer before, but still) 6.) Daniel Bryan getting cleared (again, writing was on the wall since he did get physical at least once. But i thought he'd leave WWE before they let him back) 7.) 1-2-3 Kid beating Razor Ramon 8.) Cena returning at that Royal Rumble. When he was supposed to be injured for like 9 months 9.) Miz as The Rock (i was bamboozled) 10.) Jacquelyn flashing the crowd at Fully Loaded (i think?) PPV

1 - Shawn putting Marty through the Barber Shop window. 2 - Nailz beating of Boss Man 3 - Rick Rude’s death. I think by the early 2000’s it seemed a weekly occurrence that someone else was gone, to the point i became desensitised to it. But I felt physically sick at this one. 4 - 123 kid beating Razor 5 - Hell in a Cell match. 6 - Jacqueline having her top pulled down. WWF had been pushing the envelope but crossed the line with that. 7 - Mae Young at Royal Rumble 2000 8 - the steroid trial. Finding out all your favourites are pretty much junkies was sickening. 9 - The Benoit tragedy. 10 - WCW going out of business. The booking was poor, handling of finances were dire but I still couldn’t quite believe that they would go out of business.

I wasnt blown away by Jericho winning. I felt someone other than SCSA & Rock was coming out with the strap....pity they utterly destroyed it.

Great thread idea. I wish more people posted in it. Already been mentioned but Shawn throwing Janetty through the Barbershop window. I was a kid, The Rockers were my favourite tag team, and I liked Janetty better. That was traumatizing. Haha. Heenan's comment is funnier than any scripted comedy you'll see/hear today. ============ Zandig coming off the roof with Nick Mondo. This is the craziest bump I'v ever seen. Other bumps have tried, but this........ Insane. ================== And while we're on the subject of insane. Royal Rumble 1999. HHH Pedigrees Cactus Jack onto the pile thumb tacks. One of the best looking Pedigrees you'll ever see. Cactus just takes it all the way. Joey Styles isn't here (yet) but OH MY GOD. ============== Chris Jericho showing up on Raw. I think a lot of people knew or suspected it, but damn that was good. That "Countdown to the Millenium" clock finally hitting zero after months of counting. Awesome music. Awesome video. Verbally sparring with the Rock. It was perfect way to bring a star like Jericho in. =============== The Dudley Boyz. Heatwave '99. This was like nothing wrestling had ever seen before. Cyrus had some of the funniest one liners ever heard on commentary. "Why are you laughing Joey Styles?" There's the link. I won't post the video because of the language. NOT SAFE FOR WORK============= Mike Awesome powerbombed a lot of guys over the top rope through the table. You didn't often see it happen to him, and then Masato Tanaka happened. Amazing match. Or dare I say, Awesome match. 6'7" and 290 pounds over the top rope, straight down, head first through a table to the concrete. ================ Owen Hart. I'll never forget being at my buddy's watching the "Over The Edge" PPV. Hearing Jim Ross saying Owen Hart had died and that this wasn't "a wrestling angle" still gives me goosebumps. Not gonna post the video because. ===================== And that's enough of a downer so we'll go from the worst moment in wrestling history to the funniest. Stone Cold beating up Vince in the hospital. Austin pounding Vince's foot was hilarious enough, but then out came the bed pan and wrestling history was made. ================= "That'll put butts in the seats." Tony Skee-A-Von told the Nitro Audience that Mick Foley was going to win the WWF Title on a pre-tapped Raw and then a huge chunk of that audience changed the channel to watch. Good ol WCW. The thing I'll always remember about Mick winning the title is the POP Steve Austin got. When that "glass broke" the crowd blew the roof off that place. Amazing. I still wonder how much more incredible this would have been if Jim Ross called it instead of Michael Cole. ============ And nothing will ever top Wrestlemania X8. Icon vs Icon. SkyDome in Toronto. Somewhere in that crowd is me cheering my ass off as Hulk Hogan starts HULKING UP vs the Rock. No commentary in the building gives it it's own vibe, and these two had that vibe ROCKING. Was amazing to be apart of this. I was 22, but I was 6 again when Hulk kicked out of that Rock Bottom.

Some great memories reading this post that will be hard to top. So many things the WWE did to push the boundaries.
BWO mentioned the worst scene in wrestling as Austin beating up McMahon in the hospital, but what about Vince chewing out a concussed Linda in their home? OR the classless bit about Bossman driving off with Big Show's dad's casket? Those were pretty shocking in the worst ways. Speaking of Big Show, do you remember when he pulled down the titan tron? I remember thinking that guy wasn't human, being so young not understanding how things work. I was young, so really a lot of the attitude wowed me.

The pop that Austin got on the Jan 4th 99 Raw is the greatest pop in wrestling history. INCREDIBLE.

I was at a friends house watching RAW (Dec 27, 1999) when they announced Mankind vs Rock pink slip on a pole match. I was a huge Mick fan, still am, and as a young kid didn't realize the storyline/background to wrestling. To this day I remember crying when Mick lost. He looked so defeated, The Rock looked pissed and the announcing just completely sold the realism of the firing. Was just heartbroken for Mick at the time.

pre interent etc when somebody showed up in WCW etc you were usually able to call it because the guy had been gone for a while...but in 94/95 I wasnt following wrestling at all only the very odd episode of Raw etc.
Then I came in from hurling practice one Sat afternoon & Baywatch was on the TV & Hogan & Savage were on there facing off with Flair & Vader!!! I was like WTF??
I started buying wrestling magazines again then to keep up with things. That was a real Holy Sh*t moment for me
