I played a ton of this over the weekend and wanted to share my thoughts on it  I will start with the good, the core gameplay here is awesome, it is so much fun and feels like an extension of the N64 and GameCube WWF games. It is just a fun game to pick up and play and I can see myself coming back to this time and time again and just playing a few exhibition matches when I only have like 30 to 60 minutes to play a game. It just feels good to play! I like the visual style of the game, it has a kind of cheesy unpolished thing about it and I dig that, I also like the little touches like Adam Cole pulling down his kneepad or Penta taking off his gloves, they have managed to give many of the wrestlers a lot of personality. One thing that I love is that the camera is facing the stage! I know the way the WWE games do it is to replicate what we see on TV, but I prefer to see the stage in the background when I am wrestling. They have given themselves a very solid foundation to build upon with this game and I have already had way more fun with this than I did WWE 2K23! Now, as much fun as I have had with it, it is not perfect. The Road To Elite mode is not that great at all to be honest with you, this has to be some kind of parody as the writing is just so bad! The history lessons when you buy food or go sightseeing, why the heck does this need to be in the game? I think that with a bit more work, this mode could be good. The mini-games flat out suck and are a waste of time, so we have no cage match, but we have all these dumb mini-games? Just think what else could have been added if they put those resources into that! I would have taken a cage match or a blood and guts match, hell give me both, over those stupid mini-games any day. While for the most part I like the way the game looks, the next game I feel they need to add a couple of key things, one better entrances, two the ability to customize your wrestler and three, better arenas. To be fair, this is on AEW as their arenas all kind of blend into gether for me the WWE these days is the same way, but at least they have classic arenas to draw from. If the arena customization stuff was better or if you would download other peoples stuff, I think that would help with this a great deal. So far, so good with Yukes and THQs first effort. I think the game is a lot of fun and I have been enjoying just having fun with it. I just wish that there was more to do in the single player mode. I much prefer this to WWE 2K23 which is a bloated mess that has no soul at all, this game actually has a soul and is fun to play. If I had to score it right now, I think that 7.5/10 is a fiar score. |

Are there more wrestlers to unlock in the other modes? I’ve only been playing exhibition mode. And I am a little pissed at myself because I figured while trying to unlock Owen I would do the “equal opportunity player” trophy. And I read it wrong. I thought I needed to use every wrestler in exhibition mode so Moxley is 2 and 36 now because he’s alway my opponent. But then I realized I had to use the same wrestler and beat all the others. So back to the drawing board I had to go. Hangman has 13 of the 50 wins now. But Moxley’s never coming back from that run. lol How do you unlock Owen? Beat everyone in the game? I totally forgot about him. Besides the ones already in the shop Brodie gets unlocked in the story mode. If there’s anyone else though exhibition I don’t know who it is. Ok. Thanks. As for Owen you need to win 100 one on one exhibition matches vs com. |

I lasted a while, time wise (I think 3 people were eliminated), but the momentum was a little frustrating. I’m wanting to unlock Brodie but I read you have to win the battle royal first and I can’t get it done no matter how many times I try I don't know if you're still trying to get Brodie or not but this works every time. Use MJF. Lose the Battle Royale. You'll be thrown into a tag team with someone. Win ALL the Dynamite and PPV matches and the belts. After you superkick your partner for him fugging with your luggage you'll AUTOMATICALLY be taken to the Dark Order/Brodie Lee story. That path normally takes you into a storyline that includes MJF, but since you're using him it bumps you to a different story so you don't have you using MJF talking to the the MJF computer. It's a guarantee. |

I figured out a glitch to get outside the barbed wire ring. If you have your special when you throw your opponent into the barbed wire you can push the right thumb and you will flip them over the top rope into some exploding barbed wire boards on the floor. You can't go out to the floor after them....... Or can you? I'll explain this here and try to get a video later. Assume that's the wrestling ring.

Throw the person into the barbed wire as close to the bottom left turnbuckle as the game will let you. There's a VERY FINE LINE HERE where you're either too close to the buckle and he won't go into the barbed wire, or you're too far away from the "sweet spot" and it won't work. The point is when you throw the guy out he will hit the floor and fall to his left and be TOO FAR OVER. When he tries to roll back into the ring he'll hit the ring post and fall back to the floor. at THAT POINT you can climb the turnbuckle and jump out of the ring.
IMPORTANT AND DISAPPOINTING NOTE:
The barbed wire boards out on the floor are now INACTIVE. You can see them and walk through them and slam the guy in them but it's like they aren't there. Still looks fun though. And also there is a 10 count. You don't have long to play around out there. Which leads me to this if you have it in you,
It's hard to do because if you don't do it you have to charge your special again. I found this glitch out in career mode. I got to the barbed wire match with like $25,000. I bought the booster in the shop for $20,000. It puts you in infinite "special mode." You can do endless finishers and will get the guy in the right spot a lot easier and quicker, and you'll be able to do it over and over.
If you're in the story mode approaching the death match and you have the money, go for it.

I honestly feel more alternate attires for everyone would go a long long way. No pain maker? No Joker or Mexico themed Pentagon? All of Cody’s various attires to pick from etc….
Also, I’m not asking for full entrances by any means but make them last a bit longer than they do as of now.

The second play through I did get the Join the Dark order to unlock Brodie. But every other times it’s been dance with death followed by Relationship issue and then facing yourself. I have yet to see any other blocks or have I had an opportunity to fight for any title besides the world title. I did win the tag team titles the one time I didn’t start off winning the casino battle royal.

I ended up 29-2. I was so pissed. And one final thought about RtE mode I really wish once the RtE ended you could continue the next play throughs keeping the stats & titles you accumulated instead of starting over from scratch again. Just make it continuous years/seasons. |

Just make it continuous years/seasons. 4-ways I don't even try. EVERY pin attempt gets stopped, and opponents don't stay down long enough to get 2 of them down to pin the third. It would take an inordinate amount of time that I just don't have. I hate them. I just started an RTE with the intention of losing every match, which is also a pain in the @ss. Dustin loves to break up pins on my behalf even though I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE CLICKER IN MY HAND, AND AM TRYING TO LOSE. Hate it. I also hate being an achievement hunter. You wanna get 'Shirt Collector'? GOOD LUCK. You start with no money so the only way to get the first shirt is to win one of those STUPID minigames. I hate all of them. |
