How are the fatal 4-way matches for you? This last play through with Cody. I was 27-0 until the last two weeks in the block. The first fatal 4-way I hit Dustin with the Cross Rhodes for what I figured would be the win. But then my wrestler froze on the screen and Penta covered Dustin for the win as Cody just stood there not moving. Then I beat my dark self at the PPV only to loose the fatal 4-Way. In that match I squared off with Jericho while Mox and Omega tied up. From what I saw Mox was in control the whole time they were paired up. While I beat down Jericho and just before I went for the the Cross Rhodes on the opposite side of the ring Omega knocked Mox down and covered him. I figured Mox would kick out because he had taken no damage leading up to that so I went for my finisher instead of breaking up the count because I figured there was no way Mox was getting pinned when he wasn’t hit with with a signature or finisher…well I was wrong Mox was pinned. I ended up 29-2. I was so pissed. And one final thought about RtE mode I really wish once the RtE ended you could continue the next play throughs keeping the stats & titles you accumulated instead of starting over from scratch again. Just make it continuous years/seasons. 4-ways I don't even try. EVERY pin attempt gets stopped, and opponents don't stay down long enough to get 2 of them down to pin the third. It would take an inordinate amount of time that I just don't have. I hate them. I just started an RTE with the intention of losing every match, which is also a pain in the @ss. Dustin loves to break up pins on my behalf even though I DON'T EVEN HAVE THE CLICKER IN MY HAND, AND AM TRYING TO LOSE. Hate it. I also hate being an achievement hunter. You wanna get 'Shirt Collector'? GOOD LUCK. You start with no money so the only way to get the first shirt is to win one of those STUPID minigames. I hate all of them. I got that in two play throughs. Just buy a tshirt in every city. Also I figured it out I used MJF because he’s always in the 2nd block for “Dance with Death” so I figured using him or one of the Death Triangle would have to trigger a different path. And it worked the second path became join the Dark order. Of course block 3 was still romance issues. But the last block was something with the Elite. I had to beat Cody, then Omega and the PPV I had to fight the Bucks in a handicap match. (I lost that match) but I can’t see what the reward for winning was as it’s not a title match. Now I started a new one with Pac. I won the Battle Royal. So hopefully the paths will be different. As for losing I tried that I couldn’t lose the tag matches, but for the singles if DQ’s are on I just left the ring and headed to the stage for a count out or hit the 3 times with a foreign object to get DQed. |

Mox is having a tough go so far. He's been the default opponent for all my matches as I got the "win a match with 50 different guys" achievement, and now the "100 matches" achievement.
He is currently 3-64.

I still haven’t gotten the one to unlock Paul Wight. |

You end up arriving late for Dynamite and there's only 3 minutes left in the show and only 1 person hasn't had a match............ Paul Wight. My personal advice would be SAVE IT BEFORE YOU WRESTLE HIM. You only have 3 minutes to beat him. I tried a few times and lost and just ended up cheaping out and getting him counted out. It's easier that way. If you're about to be pinned turn the system off and re-load it, If you lose HE'S GONE. This happens in the 3rd or 4th chapter and you'll have to do the whole RTE again. |

Dumb question (maybe) - - -
Is the white shoe that you can wear and kick people with possibly an "Exploding Shoe?" like AEW once used? I thought I had seen this somewhere but haven't really seen anything on it... so far all I've been able to do is wear the shoe and kick people with it.
My daughter and I were having a banger match & somehow wound up with three shoes in the ring.... I was fooling around with them, trying to do kicks on special, etc. But nothing different happened....
Maybe it's not possible, just wondered. We're having a real blast with this game!

I got the Paul White one as my final story. He’s a pain in the ass at blocking but if you have enough money buy the upgrade where you’ll have full special for the entire match and just hit finishes over and over lol The thing is I have played against him at least 30 times in the RtE mode, but never in the match to unlock him. I am on my 11 play through now and I have never gotten that block to fight him. I know you have to lose every match leading up to it and I have done that twice now and I always get the “Challenge yourself” block when I have done that. I didn’t lose but 2-3 matches in my entire RTE when I unlocked him. Pretty sure I didn’t have to lose any of the matches leading up to it either, I also was using a female caw when I got him and Brodie but could never get those stories with a male superstar the few times I went through it trying to get Brodie I don’t know according to the online “tips” they say you need to lose every match to get his block. Even bWo above in this thread said that’s how the had to do it. I have used a custom wrestler once, Cody 2X, Sting 3X, Black 1X, MJF 1X, Pac 1X and Mox 2X (Both times I had Mox lose every match) Maybe it’s different idk, it’s really confusing lol I’ve read tips about unlocking Brodie that weren’t at all how I got him despite following the tips completely I just did another using Black where I exited every match for the loss until Chaper 4 and I did get the who’s ribbing me block. So I did unlock him now. And I have three trophies left to get for Platinum. The Triple Crown, the one where you need an A+ rating at the end of RTE. highest I have gotten is a B+. And the the corner recoil one. I barely get thrown into a corner during a match. Maybe once every two or three matches. And you need to do two in a match. So I don’t know how long it will take me for that one because I only have the one controller and people are saying they are only doing it with two. Maybe I venture to play online and hope someone throws me into a corner more than once during a match. |

Spent the afternoon playing "Fight Forever with my kids, 9 & 14.... this really is a party game. Having a few people in the room & doing multiplayer matches is where this game engine really shines (as did the old N64 Aki games)!
* I've heard criticism about the mini-games, but I'll tell you something.... after a 20-minute banger-match, where the action is intense & possibly some tears are shed at the end..... the kids love a little "break" with a mini-game..... my favorite is the one where you chase a fan around the ring & have to slap a mask on their head! The kids love Shida's Slugfest..... they are a nice little "rest" between matches....
* My son was ticking me off royally during a 3-way match - kept breaking up my pin attempts...... so while he was outside the ring screwing around with the various weapons, I saw my opportunity..... had my daughter down, & saw there was a fire extinguisher lying in the ring, I grabbed it - sprayed the white cloud all over the ring, crossed my fingers & hit the "pin" button.... since my son couldn't see the pin, he didn't know 'til the ref was already counting & didn't make it in time to break it. I got the win!
I freakin' love this game!

Overall I'm only willing to give this game a "C"
I love the game play. I love the way the wrestlers look. It feels like No Mercy. Nostalgia doesn't make you a great game though.
It is fun as hell to play, but it feels like half a game. For them to have spent as much time as they did on it I'm baffled at how few options there are. It's 2023. Even if they started this in 2019/2020, the number of features available is unacceptable.
The RTE is a mess. The stories are weak. The organization is a clusterfug. The "down time" options between Dynamites are just bad. I didn't mind the mini games the first few times, but then I realized I have no backstage area to go brawl in and decided I didn't really need mini games. Sight seeing? I don't need to go to The Hockey Hall of Fame, I need to powerbomb someone through Tony Khan's desk. I don't need to know that they eat alligator meat in Louisiana, I need to piledrive someone on a car. I mash the buttons to skip this shlt harder than I do to kick out of a pin. Too much time wasted on this garbage.
The CAW options are flat out embarrassing, How are there more options for facial scars than hairstyles? There's a lack of everything here. After seeing the CAWs people were coming up with in 2K23, this CAW mode is complete amateur in comparison.
One of the achievements is "create 100 arenas." Do they even have enough options to make 100 different arenas? Lame.
The "SHOP" is tiny and filled with basically nothing you want.
Match options are few and far between. I can't even have a tag team ladder match? Are you fugging kidding me?
I liked the idea of controlling your pyro for the entrances. I figured I'd eventually get bored of it, but they didn't even give me a chance to get bored of it. The entrances are so short. There's no time for anything. What's the point?
I love the controls, but the "kick out" is as bad as everyone says it is. Mashing buttons is fine if you at least show me a "meter" I'm trying to get to. Some kid of indicator that my mashing is doing anything. It's frustrating as hell when you haven't taken as mush damage as your opponent and they pin you, and you're 100% expecting to kick out.................. Except you don't. Terrible.
The feature I however hate more than any other is the laying around. I can play GTA and get run over by a car and get up and run away. I can play UFC and my fighter can get dropped and he'll get up and try to fight back. I can play COD and my soldier can get shot and I can still run. Have a 15 minute wrestling match where you take a couple of piledrivers though and you will lay there, and lay there, and lay there, and lay there, and lay there,and lay there, and lay there,and lay there, and lay there,and lay there, and lay there,and lay there, and lay there.
You get the point. What the fug is this? By the time I get anywhere near the end of a Casino Battle Royale my wrestler is basically at a point where he lays around like a scared baby elk in a pride of hungry lions. GET THE FUG UP. When my guy can't get up for 20 seconds I think it's time for the makers to step back and realize it's not a wrestling match where you are trying to convince people the moves hurt, it's fugging video game that I would like to be able to play.
If my guy is going to lay there that long then add a ref stoppage feature and end the match and get me out of the fuggen ring. I'd prefer that to being able to literally put my controller my controller down and go get a drink because I have that much time before my video game will let me play agan. It's really awesome when I'll take a move and lay there. My opponents will fight each other as I lay there. I get up and miss a dropkick, and have now caused a self inflicted injury that will have me laying on the mat for another 15 seconds. AWESOME. The only people I have ever seen more injured in a video game are the people in Mortal Kombat after getting FINISHED. 2K23 is bad for this. Fight Forever is worse.
There are just too many things wrong with the game for me to grade it higher. What I like I love, but there isn't enough of it. And not enough of it to take my mind off the problems. Good news is a lot of those problems are easily fixable with DLC packs. Time will tell.

Selling/being hurt has been a massive flaw with wrestling video games for decades. You do just lay there. In actual matches, that's pretty rare. The guy selling is always doing something.
You should be able to crawl. Or roll over. Or get to the ropes to help pull yourself up. Or block. Something to feel like you're actually playing, and not just mashing buttons because it might do something. It would probably be more fun to play against too. I tend to get into a boring rhythm of slam the guy, pick him up, slam the guy, pick him up. Give me more bump and feed. Give me an opponent who isn't staying still in the corner, until he's 100% fine. Let the guy on defence actually play.
