2001 Kane! It was that that got me into wrestling. I was so intrigued as a 8 year old with the whole mask/burnt face monster routine and I’d say apart from his original feud with Undertaker, this was the most over Kane as a babyface. The two man power trip was a great run of matches for him and his performance in the Rumble that year (and arguably throwing big show out in 2002 which never gets mentioned) he was on fire (yeah, ha). I’ll go as far as saying, for me, his rumble elimination record shouldn’t have been bettered. It was one helluva performance and it speaks volumes that his record was brought up every year.
I loved him when he returned the next year, but I’ll agree with some replies, it felt like a water downed Kane. There was no monster there, nothing to be feared of which is what his character was always based off. Katie Vick happened, then RVD partnership and by then he was losing to La Resistance. Wasted.

It will ALWAYS be the SCARY version of Kane from 1997-1998, the same one who would win the WWF Championship off of Austin, even if it was for one night. What a run, too bad they turned him into a joke.
Honestly I would've loved if (the same scary) Kane took the streak from Taker ten years down the road (honestly I was rooting for Kane at WM14).

I just love Kane; he deserved better. Hardcore Kane/half mask are my two favorites. The unmasked 2003 Kane was pretty solid too. I think he should of had that mid/late 2003 world title run though. I loved Corporate Kane; and how he would remask at points. Controlled chaos ; Kane was done dirty only getting two title runs.
