I was thinking about spray painting the matt riddle legs white and then painting with ciradel paint. I have to cover up his ankle tattoo and the white trunks at the tops of the legs.
I was always curious how to make the shoe polish work but if I didnt have to cover those areas I would try it.

I was always curious how to make the shoe polish work but if I didnt have to cover those areas I would try it. You can use nail polish remover and a q-tip to remove the tattoo. It will work for just about anything on soft plastic (arms, legs, head), but will eat away at the hard plastic on the torso/hips. I haven't tried shoe polish, but I'd think with a heavier application on the white part you should be able to match the color. If you're going to paint, you're probably going to need to mix paints to match the color. But you should be able to paint directly without issue. I almost never prime my parts unless it's something super dark that I'm going to be painting white or yellow.

Just to be clear so I don't do the opposite....are the older figures the ratchet or the newer ones? I was assuming snuka was ratchet and riddle was ball joint. Is that correct? I need to cut through the ratchets and sleeves in the riddle legs or rhe snuka legs?

Is this you in the video? Yup... hope that’s not a bad thing LOL No it was a good video. I wish the camera was more close up during some of the cutting scenes to see what to look for or cut. But it was clearly narrated and not annoying. I watched so many videos that just sent me over the edge with annoying voices that just rambled on and on. I have a snuka and a matt riddle elite. Do you know if one or the other has ratchet vs ball joint? If not, how do I tell? I bought a brand new box cutter and im ready to go but I'm not entirely sure who I should cut. My other question is how do you get the full leg past the hip line? In the video ziggler legs came out easily but mine leave those little sections of leg right above the straight line seams.

Thanks for the feedback! Honestly, I don’t own either figure, but the easiest way tell if it’s a ball or ratchet joint is to look at them. The ball joints are smooth while the ratchet joints have little notches on the “ball” joint. If you pulled the legs off of yours and the little piece stayed connected then it’s most likely ratchet style. Hope that helps.

I thought that they had just universally switched to ball joints now but maybe not. I'll use your method on both. Are you familiar with using dremels on figures or painting? I want to smooth a section of snukas hair to put on matt riddles headband. I also intend to spray paint the riddle legs white and then paint them with citadel paint. I dont trust the polish since I am painting over the tights.

In my case I tried that and i guess the hole the ball joints are supposed to go into are bigger and caused the legs to be really loose. I reattached the sockets and its good and tight. Maybe it was just mine or maybe i did something wrong i didnt look for any instructions. Honestly I just guessed my way through it and it worked. You just cut the 2 extensions off the rubber sockets and it was loose? That’s odd because if you just cut the two extensions off the rubber sockets they should make them just like the ball-joints. And they should be any looser than if it was an actual ball-joint. Also as for paint I used brown shoe polish on Keven’s legs and it matched up with Snuka’s tone quite nicely. I didn't try cutting the extensions of the sockets. I didnt think of that. I first tried it without the sockets at all and completely wobbly loose legs. So then i put the sockets back on and with alot of trouble and heating got it to work it even burned my fingers of how hot it got lol. If i ever have a situation like that again i will definitely try cutting the socket extensions first. Thanks for the shoe polish tip ill be trying that its the last step to make the figure perfect.

Finally finished my custom barefoot snuka. Been an on again off again project and a learning experience. Borrowed the recipe for legs and feet from past customizers. Painted the kneepads and ankle tape. Used matt riddle feet and headband. Had to match up the skin tone by mixing different paints as the shoe polish didn't work out for me. Thanks for everyone that helped a first time customizer here.
