Because (IMO) Drew deserved a better match and coronation than he got at WM.
The match was great and I got the outcome I was hoping for, so honestly, who cares why?

To get him closer to Cena. Once they are both tied with Flair for most championships, Cena can come back and they can have a WM main event match to break the tie. Whoever the champion is wouldn’t gain an extra title reign by winning that match though. Yeah, but you know if Vince wants this to happen he’ll find a way to make it work. Maybe he’ll have them tied with one having the belt going into the match. |

I think this has opened a couple of paths of how we get to Mania.
A). Orton regains the title at TLC to conclude the feud for good.
-Orton runs path of destruction to WrestleMania 37- dropping the title to Edge - Edge has brief reign dropping the title to possibly Drew Mcintyre in a sort of passing the torch concept in Baby face-baby face feud.
-Orton runs with the title until Edge's return. Edge costs Orton the title or beats Orton to the point where Miz rushes in and cashes in. Miz runs with the title to Mania with program with John Morrison or a program with Drew Mcintyre wanting to regain the title.
B). Mcintyre runs with the gold and concludes the program at TLC.
-Mcintyre continues on finishing Orton off at TLC. Then settles into feud with Sheamus going into Early 2021. Possibly a Cash in by The Miz after being left in vunerable state. Having Miz go into program with John Morrison. Mcintyre goes into some other high profile Mania feud.
-Mcintyre runs into WrestleMania 37 maybe with return of Brock Lesnar? And Mcintyre going over again/or dropping the title
Mcintyre goes on another lengthy run that lasts till the Early Summer?
