Bossman losing this match was his first CLEAN ppv loss in the company

I'm a fan of both guys but they just didnt click in that match.
Heenan ripping on Boss Man in classic fashion was the only highlight for me.

Bossman looked done by that point. Good thing he had that late 90s renaissance. I figured he would have had at least one clean loss on ppv somewhere along the way to 1993.

Didn't Dusty pin him cleanly at Survivor Series 1989? I think Boss Man had no trouble doing this seeing how Dusty made him into the Bubba Rogers character back in JCP. Cornette tells a great story about this as well. |

They may have been slated for the rumble originally. I know Bam Bam and Bossman names were typed on the back of the CV VHS tape. I don't know the timing of the box being produced and the match being made though and I do remember Max Moon and Lance Cassidy being pictured for a match in the WWF magazine. It's really a shame Bossman left like this. He was one of the top faces in late 90, early 91. Earthquake leaving was also a shame. He would be jobbed out to Yokozuna on house shows after this I believe.

So here is some interesting useless wrestling trivia for everyone.
In 1988 when Bam Bam Bigelow was on his way out of the WWF it was the Big Boss Man he was putting over.
In 1993 the reverse happened.
Pretty neat!

They didnt air him getting squashed until after the Rumble so no reason why they couldnt put him in the Rumble for a confrontation with Yoko. It's also strange that both Crush and Kamala are pictured but their names are not typed. I know Kamala was going through the breakup with Harvey so maybe they kept him out for storyline reasons. I also wonder why he missed the 1994 Rumble. I was so excited for him being announced and disappointed when he was replaced with Virgil. I guess money had something to do with this as he was always upset with pay and if he wasn't under contract he wouldn't be obligated to do the show. It seems like WWF may have had too many guys that could be used for the rumble match. If Crush, Kamala, Duggan, Bossman and Bigelow make the match that leaves a few other guys off the match. I see Owen Hart's name not mentioned. |

Seeing the back of the box, it's a shame that Savage and Flair had no contact in this rumble. They were such a big part of 1992, it would have been nice to see them interact. Too me, I always feel like big names should be the last 4 or 5 guys in the match; Yoko, Savage, Flair and Perfect would have been a nice 4-some to end the match. |
