See. Double standard. How do you think some of the things Vince had the women doing in the "Attitude Era" would go over today? Telling Trish to get on her hands and knees and bark like a dog? Oh. And what was it he said to John Cena? MY WHAT?ok now i get it. but to answer part of this honestly....the stuff they did in the RUTHLESS AGGRESSION era would not go over today. but thats more due to the way society has changed and not what is actually acceptable whether or not it SHOULD have been acceptable back then is irrelevant. to be honest it wasn't really acceptable, but it was bringing in ratings and the voice of the minority wasn't anywhere near as strong as it is now (minority in this case being whiny complaining twitter warriors....not the other definitions of minority) however nobody complains about "adult" scenes in tv shows like game of thrones.
nobody complains about murder and serial killers on cop shows like NCIS.
nobody complains about shows like the bachelor or big brother that actively promote sexist behavior from both sides
most of those shows are the highest rated, highest talked about shows on televisionRight. But those aren't writers/producers with Vince McMahon's past (allegations and facts) on tv themselves humiliating women. Vince is in Playboy flaunting his affairs and how he sees/views woman. Do you really think he didn't get "something" out of having them behave that way on Raw/Smackdown/PPVS at his behest? Based on his past, why does he get the benefit of the doubt? |
