It wouldn't surprise me if they faked the WM IV banner to be the WM V banner. Both WM IV and V were faked in that we as fans were led to believe it was live from "Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino" but that particular building was a large vertical building. The WM arenas were large horizontal buildings. As a kid I always wondered about this but it turned out the events took place at the boardwalk hall. Again, we as fans were lied to by WWF/Vince McMahon and the owner of Trump Plaza so why wouldn't WWF keep up with the lies and pretend that the previous years banners were the current years? After all, it was Vince McMahon and the owner of Trump Plaza that lied about a "purchase" of WWE Raw some years ago that led to some very serious issues about the WWE stock.

They were lazy with the V apron. Clearly recycled with the I still visible

Yes the gold portion of the I was removed from the banner (as seen above) I personally looked for years for the WM4 banner/ring skirt as its my favorite Mania but I noticed none were known of existence....come to find out they were all V banners now.

I think they definitely did, and I don't blame them. They were looking for ways to save money at the time and they had a load of stuff they could reuse; it's fair enough.

I really don't see an issue with the WWE doing that either at the time.
It's not like Wrestlemania IV or V were in giant stadiums or anything. Wrestlemania IV and V are cool events, but even looking back don't really give off a Wrestlemania vibe compared to III and VI.

I remember seeing not long ago on Twitter that a collector had obtained one of these aprons. For me that’d be a grail piece with how much Mania IV/V mean to me.
