I’m not really a fan of them. They make the new UE Hollywood Hogan look like those storm collectibles figures, which I think are ugly as HELL! I think they’re going to ruin the UE Austin for me if it comes with butterfly joints. Hopefully someone from Mattel could see this and not ruin the whole entire Ultimate edition line. What do you guys think, should we go on strike?

As I display loose and don’t play with my figures, it doesn’t really matter to me.

I rather they drop the toe articulation. I am not a fan of the Butterfly joint in general, the only times I wasn’t bothered by them was when they’re covered by a cape. (Like the Mafex or Figaurts Batman figures) Other than that I hated them on ML, Joe’s, Figuarts and Mafex figures, but I do like them on the UE Hogan. The ones on Hogan are the first butterfly joint design I have liked. I just wish his shoulders were a little larger.

I like what they do for possibility. It doesn't matter as much on everyone, but I think it helps for certain characters.

I think it’s awesome and I have yet to get Hogan. I think the more they improve the figures the better. I’d love to see an Ultimate Edition Reigns with the butterfly joints to do his Superman punch. The one thing I don’t care about is the toe articulation. It just looks bad on guys who wear kick pads, but it’s one of those things.

I’m not really for or against them honestly. I do think they look good on the Hogan from a posing standpoint in photos.

Im ok with them if they fit the figure. Hogan does a lot of flexing so they work well for him. I dont see a reason an UE Kevin Owens should have them

I have no idea what that is.
But I do think all UE's look terrible. I hate how the torso looks. There's no reason for it to look like that. Just use a regular Elite torso. I hate the elbow joints. They could make my most wanted figure a UE and I would never buy it. They remind me of the Jakks Finishing Moves figures. I despised those.

Yes, they’re prefect! Since I collect a lot of SH Figuarts and Storm Collectibles’ Dragon Ball and Mortal Kombat lines, I’ve been wanting butterfly joints on wrestling figures for the longest. The added articulation just adds a whole new look on the Ultimates.

yes I would love it if the UE figures got to the point where they had the same articulation as mafex. I mean that's what this line is all about articulation

if they make a guy able to do a better signature pose? im all for it.
the thing i dont like is that extra "toe" bend...completely unnecessary IMO and just adds another possibility of a figure falling over because of a loose POA

I like extra articulation be it the arms, shoulders, toes, or anywhere else.

I love the Ultimates with the butterfly joints. When you think brands like SH Figuarts and Mafex are a lot more expensive yet smaller figures you have to be impressed with Mattel for achieving competitive levels of articulation at this price point.

I'm not the biggest fan because of the aesthetic and because, on Marvel Legends at least, it seems like the figure is perpetually rolling his shoulders inward. It's hard to get that joint to roll back without rolling the arms completely back.
They're great for posing; there's no doubt about that.
For me, it's important my figures look like figures (which is why I don't collect statues even though I love how they look) so there can be too much articulation just like there can be not enough (*cough* Basics). It definitely works on Hogan, though. You can do his side bicep flex and shirt rip, too.
