Received CW Chop Shop in the mail today......I hope we get the rest of the deluxe Insecticons in this scale!! The new sharkticons are amazing. I found 3 a week ago and love them. |

Today I received Titans Return Brainstorm. Greatness I liked his last figure more, simply due to it being a voyager. There was a 3rd party group that did the quintessons and they were outstanding. |

Greatness I liked his last figure more, simply due to it being a voyager. There was a 3rd party group that did the quintessons and they were outstanding. Oh I love Voyager Brainstorm too....I've moved him to my Wreckers shelf. He looked odd to me with the rest of his Headmasters pals being deluxe. speaking of Deluxe Headmasters? I am LOVING Cerebros. Fort max is gonna be headless for a while....... |

I enjoy TR Fort Max too but I gotta say the original toy(which I own in Brave Maximus form from RID) kills it. particularly in base mode......Thrilling 30 Metroplex also has him beat IMO. But he was always gonna be a guy I got couldn't pass him for my CHUG collection. while I'm here I better post my Christmas haul of TF for @3nwpro too!!! received Voyager class Megatron from Titan Returns today in the mail from Smyths. He is excellent and will fit better in my Season 1 Decepticon shelf than the (also excellent) Leader class figure from CW.
My Seekers, Soundwave and Shockwave are all deluxe...Insecticons are legends and the of course Devastator is a titan. Everything seems more proportionate now. Only other Voyager is Astrotrain....and that suits him.

Hey everyone I typically collect WWE Elite figs and Marvel Legends but I am interested in collecting Transformers toys, mostly because I never owned them in my life and I love the old cartoon and the movies. I would just appreciate some input and advice on collecting these. There are a lot of series and I'm obviously new to the game so, which line is the most popular? Which has the most replay value? Which series has the most overall value? Which big box retail stores TYPICALLY have the best selection? The most articulate? and I guess which ones should i stay away from? Thanks a lot guys in advance I really appreciate it.

Thanks a lot guys in advance I really appreciate it. it would be really hard to pin down the best for you, if your looking for the besr representations of the characters go for Masterpiece or 3rd Party figures. These you won't unfortunately be able to get in any stores except TRU which only releases 2-3 a year |

Yeah if you want cartoon accurate, definitely slowly pick away at Masterpiece, Bumblebee is a popular, cheap, common one that'd be great to start off with.
If you want the actual toys from when you were a kid they did a ton of reissues.
Most recently they had the Platinum Trypticon and Insecticons in stores and I see the Seekers set for cheap constantly.
I personally mostly collect originals and get a few of the reissues and third party if I think they're superior and the type of figures it doesn't bother me they aren't actually vintage.
Like the new Ironhide and Ratchet are a little different from the old ones but Soundwave and the Cassettes you'd probably be happy you got the reissue.
Also, I like to get a reissue cheap (damaged box is usually a win) and use the parts to fix my vintage figures.
It's a perfect replacement but still enough of the classic left to feel like you've got a legit G1...like fixing up an old car!
