I wonder if Zombie has tried to sign David Schultz. I wouldn’t mind a mini Dark Side of the Ring set. There’s already Dino and Bruiser. I’m sure he’s trying to get Owen. Gino and New Jack would be cool too.

Chill out people...as I made clear in my previous post, it SEEMS like having to buy a full set is a possibility (based on an interpretation of Zombie comments previously seen/and/or referenced previously in this thread). I am not stating this is a fact or that it has been definitively stated by anyone. I was reading between the lines of what has been said & hypothesising within the context of a purely speculative business hypothesis of whether it would be a financially successful venture.
No need to get your knickers in a twist yet.

and my primary concern is happening.... being forced to buy figures people don't want or care about, just to get a couple of exclusives that fans really want! who is going to buy a second-hand Myers ZST figure or a Sterling figure without the others?? I guess it's one way to avoid being left with a bunch of MWFP peg-warmers, but it means people will actually be paying $80 or more than necessary just to get the figures they truly wanted I hope not neither. I'm sure he knows there's way more demand for guys like Bundy and Bravo than their will be for Sterling, and other lesser known or desired names. I could see getting a discount if you buy the entire wave, that would make sense. But, I don't see how the model will work if it's complete sets only. If we're talking 200 a set, who's going to fork that over when they only want half the set? Re-sale sure, but there won't be a demand for the lesser wanted guys on the 2ndary market.

Has anyone heard how much these will run? I’ve read $40 a figure, but I’m not sure if that is people guessing or actually what the cost will be.

ZST posted a preview of series one (just the prototypes and no card or packaged shots yet) on Insta. Folks asked if they could only buy one and ZST confirmed you could buy only the figures you want.

Yeah. Basically sounds like there will be a "full series" option, but It seems like each figure can be purchased individually as well.

Glad to hear Zombie cleared that up.
Speaking of ZST...I hope this toy line gets its own social media. I used to enjoy following Zombie but this whole Kevin Costner thing went from kind of amusing to not entertaining to kind of sad. Maybe some people out there enjoy it but it isn’t something I like to see mixed in with toys/collectibles.

Is this just a running gag you had to follow from its beginning or what is the story behind it. Personally I simply don’t think it’s funny. Not sure how I would feel about if I were Costner...

Whatever it is, it doesn't present well when you're running a business and using the same page to advertise product..

It started when Zombie got a bunch of case fresh Waterworld figures/sets. Somehow word got back to Costner's people about the gag and Costner recorded a shoutout video for Zombie (which was notable because it wasn't a Cameo or one of those paid videos). The video is kinda funny because Costner is clearly wasted. I think he was either at Christmas or NYE party. But now the gag won't go away.

That was my understanding of it as well. Like it is 100% possible that I missed other aspects of it but it feels like it has been 6 months of clout chasing. ZST is a creative person and deserves to run his business as he sees fit. Doing these wacky posts won’t make me NOT buy the figures I want...it just makes it less enjoyable to follow. This doesn’t need to break down into a “you’re either with us or you’re against us” type of thing. I love Tom Hanks but I don’t love every movie he has been in. I love Hasbros but that Flair face is terrible. It’s just one opinion on a larger thing as a whole. If it makes him happy and he finds success doing it - great! I just wish it wasn’t on his business account is all I’m saying. To each their own.

That is actually extremely funny. Also a classy act by Costner.

Not a fan of Kevin Costner, at all, but I’ll still probably pick up a couple of these figures.

I think it's a great sculpt, but way too "real" to fit in with the Hasbros for me. For $40, I just can't justify it. The scale might be the same -- but it would look strange and not fit well with my retro Hasbros...

Yeah these are more just cool Hasbro sized sculpts than they are Hasbro replicas and that’s fine for people that just want that. Hebner and Dino are not going to fit in with your Hasbro collections though it would seem.

Yeah but it does look great.
But I’m out on these anyway, as I’m in the U.K....and I anticipate them being too expensive & too scarce for me to get drawn into the whole ‘fear of missing out’ business selling model.
