Yeah these are more just cool Hasbro sized sculpts than they are Hasbro replicas and that’s fine for people that just want that. Hebner and Dino are not going to fit in with your Hasbro collections though it would seem. This is 100% right. They are truly beautiful sculptures in Hasbro scale -- but do not fit in with the Hasbros. The work is actually too good....

It’s tough to say the figures will or won’t fit with Hasbros when we haven’t actually seen a figure yet. The original Hasbro 2-ups and paintmasters also look more “realistic” and sculpted than the final figures. I’m not trying to defend Zombie or the line or anything, they may 100% not fit in at all. But I just think we need to see an actual figure, not a preproduction piece, before deciding either way.

I didn't post this, until he shared this paintmaster today. Do you have a photo of a Hasbro paintmaster ever looking like this? All the ones I saw looked pretty close to the final product...

It’s interesting that they seem to have slightly over sized arms, just like the retros do. Not that the hasbros were perfectly in scale....but i find it intriguing that no one seems to be able to quite capture the style of the hasbros.

The magic there in hasbros is often imitated never duplicated. Sabu was my biggest anticipation of the set. I’m fine with the sculpt, not sold on the gloss-metallic look to his pants for some reason. Wish I could share why lol Might try to get an extra to repaint some slept on ECW attires he had.

Wow, hadn’t even noticed that before now but you are correct. I’m still interested in Sabu...but with so many names being announced, I might just save my money for someone better down the line. Speaking of... Another announcement is coming today: instagram.com/stories/zombiesailorstoys/2576042457934512745?utm_source=ig_story_item_share&utm_medium=copy_link

I also think that giving this is a painted prototype it is missing that final coating that will give the plastic that Hasbro shine. I don’t know what that final process is called but I hope peeps pick up my point, they don’t have that shine just yet. I am interested to know who this big signing is he is hinting at, should know by the end of the day.

Looks like we have a Dark Side of the Ring clue? Nick Gage? David Schultz? Herb Abrams? Gino Hernandez? He said it is someone who has never had a figure before and we never saw it coming. http://instagram.com/p/CPBKLIxgbjY

I hope for Zombie's sake, it's Gage. At least he has an active fanbase. Gino never made it to the national spotlight and has been dead for 35 years now. Abrams was, albeit an interesting and fascinating, footnote in wrestling history, so I highly doubt it's him. Schultz, again, not much of an active fanbase and just missed the height of the Rock n' Wrestling era nationally. Schultz does have the infamous Stossel incident sorta going for him, but to me, he's just not the level of say a Bruiser Brody, especially from a visual standpoint.

Todd is a great choice; I do hope they adjust the sculpts to make them more "character" and less life-like, because I would buy them if yes.
Even if they have the Hasbro sheen, Sabu just looks too realistic for me -- as I said, it's too good with modern technology to fit in (for me personally)

I'm more excited for Todd Pettengill than I probably should be.

To fit in with Hasbro we need them to look more cartoony.

I'm not sure if anyone else caught it, but if you watch the Pettengill announcement video posted on Twitter, Ron Rudat is shown holding some ZST sketches. There are two figures pictured. One is definitively Mantaur and the other looks to be Duke "The Dumpster" Droese, both of which would be instant buys for me and I'm sure many others.
