Remember very little about the nWo after WM18...or that time frame in WWE. Interest waned heavily & didn't return until August really.

HBK in the group is all you need to know about the failure that was the WWE version of the NWO.

Not even pretending to care Kevin Nash is the best version of Nash, to be fair.

nWo 2002 was brutal...and absolutely destined to fail long before they even stepped in a WWE ring by the sounds of it.

They werent the rebels like they were in WCW

Plus nobody wanted to work with them....Hall & Nash became a disruption in the locker room the moment they returned according to many sources.

I think Booker got a couple of comebacks but WWE also had to get in their comedy routines, or at least Vince's version of comedy routines. It's hard for a guy like Booker on the mic when working with guys whose sole intention is to give you NOTHING. I'm talking Michaels and Nash here more than Vince.
I know a lot of the guys at the ring weren't headliners but Nash speaking to them about headlining wrestlemania came off like a 1972 Miami Dolphin random player/non HOF telling a new NFL star about his team being the best but doing it in a way to put down the new era and knowing he is doing so.
Big Show was never entertaining to me, I was a huge 123 Kid fan but he just looks so out of place here. Michaels seems like pre-religion here. Maybe not as bad as 1996/1997 but definitely he won't be giving any help to the new talents. And Nash is literally the whole 1972 Dolphins all buy himself. I did think it was crap for Vince to put Michaels over so much to Booker's T's face. All 4 guys seems way out of their prime here but I'm sure Vince wanted them under contract more than any of the people at the ring with him. Nash is like the employee who will give a jab to the boss at your job but when it's time for break, he's smoking with him and laughing it up. I'm sure whether the finger was planned or not Vince had a good "har har har har" old school Vince laugh with Nash over it.

I guess I'm in the minority when I say that NWO could have had a good run in the WWF under different circumstances. I'd also go as far as to say that their run until Mania 18 was great.
The first problem was having the NWO lose both their matches at WM18 (could have been fixed by having Nash on the card and going over Kane as originally planned)
The 2nd problem was losing Hogan (killing their star power) and proceeding to job to Hogan/Rock til the brand split. X-Pac joining was fine but you're replacing the biggest star in the history of the business with a C tier guy. (This is why I think Shawn joining could have worked fine if handled right). But either way Hennig should have been one of the first guys to join up.
The 3rd problem was losing Hall
As soon as Kev got injured there was no hope
