So the most talked-about double turn feud would be Bret and Austin in 1997. But people forget Shawn and Trip in 2002. That program started with heel Shawn wanting face Trip to come to RAW and join the nWo. By the time the feud got going around SummerSlam they ended the nWo, did a false DX reunion, and ended up running Trip as the heel and Shawn as the face. Can anyone think of any other âforgottenâ double turns?

Ric Flair vs. Lex Luger at Wrestle War 90 could possibly work.
Flair was supposed to be the face, Luger the heel. But because days before the Horsemen kicked Sting out and Sting came down to support Lex, it instantly made Lex the face and Flair the heel.

Kind of...
So Shane Douglas was face and Sandman was heel with Woman. They have a title match and Woman turns on Sandman and goes with Shane. It makes Shane a heel now and Sandman a face.
Weeks later, Woman turns on Shane and helps Sandman win the ECW Title. Thus making Sandman and Woman heel again and Shane face.
Then that just led to Shane going heel months later again when he left ECW for the WWF.

AJ returning and defeating Paige for the Divas title. Turned Paige heel and AJ face again. I guess you might also be able to count Jericho/Trish from Mania 20. Jericho was a heel and Trish was face when the âbetâ storyline started and after Mania they flipped.

Jake the Snake and Honky Tonk Man Is this the one where Hinky used a real guitar rather than a gimmicked one?

Jake the Snake and Honky Tonk Man I dont remember HTM being a face? When he first came to the WWF. He wore these awful tights with suspenders. Then they did the phone in poll to give him "the vote of confidence", which he lost & made him turn heel.

Kane and Triple H, when Hunter joined the corporation. Overlooked completely for some reason...one of the hottest heel turns ever and NOBODY seen it coming because Chyna had turned face earlier in the night when HHH beat Kane. So when HHH helped the despised Shane beat X-Pac later? It got f*ckin mega heat. the crowd were legit pissed because DX had JUST re-united and HHH wrecked it at arguably the height of their popularity. It got him the required heat to push on and beome th e#1 heel post WM.

Youâre right about it being completely overlooked, I came across it on google the other day and had completely forgotten about it. Was that bittersweet moment of Hunter and Chyna reuniting, but doing it by selling out to the corporation.

Chyna turning face during HHH vs Kane was a hell of a red herring for the crowd....NOBODY seen the HHH heel turn coming 15 mins after that. Anybody that says they did are full of sh*t...LOL

Jake the Snake and Honky Tonk Man I don't remember HTM being a face? He was at the very beginning of his tenure with the WWF. Vince thought for sure that the fans would love Honky Tonk because everyone loved Elvis... He did wrestle for a bit as a good guy but the fans never got behind him and even booed him. I think there is a picture out there of Honky Tonk Man saving Hogan from a beat down with all the other generic babyfaces. Apparently, they figured Honky wouldn't get enough fan support and turned him heel. Like Nivro⢠said, they did a thing where fans could call in and give a vote of confidence or no confidence for Honky, and the fans voted a no confidence which eventually turned him heel because the fans weren't behind him. I believe all this happened on Jesse's Body Shop Show. If I remember correctly, Honky Tonk Man said it was Jesse's idea to do the vote. Is this the one where H0nky used a real guitar rather than a gimmicked one? That's what Jake claims. Honky Tonk Man denies it and says he and Jimmy gimmicked the hell out of the guitar. I'm not 100% sure because that shot looks stiff as hell. If the gif above continues to run you would see Honky even look at the guitar after the shot. Most guitar shots explode, this one didn't.

Managed to find a clip of it. You can see Honky subtly check the guitar. After the next couple of shots, the back of the guitar is practically falling apart. To me, it looks like a freak accident that it didnât explode on the first hit. I remember a magazine I used to get were adamant that it was real, Iâm not so sure now.
