I am going to keep my comments to myself about the “back room” story. But how do you even know it was a chase that was purchased the next day? They aren’t in every case. Maybe someone just bought the figure they still needed or only wanted from the set. I know I have purchased just one figure from an assortment many times because it was the only one I wanted or needed from a set. Even if there was a chase in the set they could have passed on it. I really don’t want ether of the series 3 or series 2 chase figures. If I were to get the Moxley chase it would have been for the Inner Circle shirt. But seeing I have the regular version I am not spending $20 just for a shirt. I left many of Mattel’s 1/1000 belt figures on the pegs back in 2010 because I didn’t want the wrestler it was with. I wasn’t actually sure, but the next morning once they opened around 710am, 1 was figure was gone, so if anyone went to Walmart before they opened for 1 fig out of the set, maybe. Or since I live in NYNJ, people are broke and will flip anything including toilet paper during a pandemic. Idk if I mentioned it but a Walmart worker had no idea about AEW series 1, came back series 2 and he hunted 2 Chase Moxleys just because he knew the worth of it and could flip it. I had to buy both chases for series 2 on the bay because of it. I would hope a real fan woke up early for a reg jon moxley and got what he wanted for $20. I live in the NY/NJ area. What store was it?

Im ngl, I'm not even sure which one that was at this point I wanna say New Milford, Milford PA, or something like that? I know it was PA because I drove all the way WEST to the border of Jersey and this Walmart said PA. I had 3 more spots that same day I went to about 2 hours north from there. I remember specifically opening a fresh case in Oneonta? I drove to places Ive never been or heard of, so thank the lord for GPS. I remember at the end of the day of driving to Walmarts (around 11pm at this point), I was driving in the mountains and it just started randomly snowing. Fun times. lol Why did I drive so far? Because within 30 minutes the ones like Kearny etc would be gone after a truck gets scanned. Rushing to a Walmart near me meant I'm gonna be camped by other people trying to get employees to go to the back, or lurk me until I talk to an employee and then wanna pop up outta nowere and talk to me. Collectors are weird ngl, I guess I fit in.

I found a fresh case at Walmart in Canada today just outside of Toronto and got lucky with a Moxley Chase. I've seen quite a few people finding them in Calgary area as well out west but have not seen any MJF chases north of the border so far from postings FB groups etc. Did it have the normal packaging or the English/French packaging? It was the English/French packaging

Actually going into the backroom of a store you don’t work at just to look for a certain figure, man some people take collecting a little to far, this ranks up there with some of the stories I’ve read on here about card collectors.

welp....traveling hundreds of miles and barging into a Walmart stock room to look for a chase Moxley is definitely going to be a part of WF lore from now on.

Fancy driving hundreds of miles - and invading a private, staff-only, shop warehouse... all for the sake of "chasing" after that rather crappy, Moxley figure. It's the second chase - along with the Jericho, that's inferior to the regular release. The only chase I want is the MJF - which actually improves upon the regular version.

It’s about that time I pull the trigger on this and MJF. I can find both for about 280-320 each. All things considered, I’m ok with paying that for them.

Trying to find a nice English carding chase Moxley seems to be a bitch. All the cheaper ones on eBay are that damn Quebec packaging

I really think the French worded ones got 500 made in addition to the English cards. Way too many of both floating out there to be just 500 total. Seen more Mox, than Cody/MJF combined.

You counted more than 500? They already said they make the exact number and anything more is the people at the factory in China taking liberties. Some of these are the same figure being resold The Moxley is less desirable than MJF, and its kinda an open secret that a bunch of the Series 1 chases were given to people who work at Jazwares & AEW, plus you got that guy who stole 4 of them from the factory and sold them to that assclown on Instagram that leaks everything

yeah, the cost difference from a 1/1000 Jericho to a 1/500 Mox is staggering
I think Canada probably got almost no chase releases shipped beforehand, and so Jazwares specifically sent several MJF and Mox's here.
I can get one for as low as 240 CAD right now...which is about 190 USD. meanwhile Jericho is still selling for around $750 CAD as of this week.

Not really shocking, but the American cards are going to be worth way more in the long run than the Canadian cards, and since this was limited to 500 to start with and there’s a lot of Canadian cards, the ones that only have English on them are going to be really rare
I’d like to get a Canadian one to open some day, but I’m not breaking my bank over these right now. These original 8 chases will be my grails to acquire over time

Mox is my current fav wrestler, while I couldn’t justify paying 350$ plus dollars for a chase, I ended up selling my MOC SES Punk and using that money to by a Mox chase...no worries tho, I have 2 Loose Punks also
