imagine if there was a casket and they forgot the casket for the match.... that's not a proper equivalent. I mean there were exploding wires and a death match...

that's not a proper equivalent. I mean there were exploding wires and a death match... And honestly a pretty darn good one. The blast on the board from the paradigm shift outside was a bit off, but the rope explosions were pretty decent. The two wrestled a very good match.

that's not a proper equivalent. Imagine a HIAC with a ref stoppage... or a first blood match where one guy wears a mask and a bodysuit

While the final moments were a dud, it was nowhere near as bad as the finish to Hell in a Cell 2019 IMO. Detractors are trying to claim that TK lied during the promotion of Revolution, but he gave us everything he promised (Sting in a match, barbed wire, explosions).
With Hell in a Cell 2019, Vince promised us a HIAC between Fiend and Rollins. The brutalist match ever with no DQs and where someone has to win via pinfall or submission...and the match ended on a ref stoppage...Hell in a Cell 2018 ended in similar fashion, but didn’t receive as much backlash as 2019 did.
If anyone is going to call out a promoter for aparently lying to their customers, look no further than Vince.

MJF may as well have held a big sign over Jericho's head that says "GETTING KICKED OUT" in the promo hyping up the War Council or whatever.
Wouldn't shock me if they're writing Jericho off so he can go do more dad rock superspreaders with Fozzy.

Post show notes with TK -- Just the revolution specific stuff, the other stuff is going in the main thread: -- Darby did A LOT with the creation of the street fight. They utilized his film-maker side a lot for this one and Tony was really happy with everything Darby did for it. -- Regarding the botched ending. Tony said in kayfabe that he's not surprised Kenny's crappy crayon drawing led to a dud. Somewhat truthfully he also hinted that while it may not have been what he wanted, there was also only so much they could do without actually blowing the guys up, so he also doesn't know what people could want from him. -- Said they'll address the botched ending on dynamite as well. In full kayfabe of course, but honestly, what else can they do? He knows it was a screw up, and he knows it was a big one. All they can do is spin it into the story now. Then maybe not do the match if you can’t do what’s expected to happen in the match. This is an odd response from him. They could have easily just done a barb wire ropes match if they couldn’t do the match ending properly. Good on them for turning it into an angle, but Mox and Eddie look stupid as hell.

Edge and Christian coming back to wrestling is just so awesome to me and I’m glad they’ve both found homes. When I listened to the E&C podcast a few years back it was so obvious that they still had so much passion for wresting that couldn’t be used in the ring. I’m so happy that I get to watch both of them continue their careers and eventually end on their own terms. It’s great.

I read that more as him implying that it was botched, but if they'd done any more explosives it would've risked the health of the wrestler's, so they did what they thought was best.

The firework display at the end of the countdown for the bomb going off was cute.
With that being said, I think the problem was lack of smoke and noise. If those things went off with a sonic boom sort of sound and there was heavy smoke, then we'd have reason to believe that Kingston and Mox legit got blown up or at least hurt. The ending was a sad dud. It reeked of WCW, so fitting that AEW is on TNT.
Christian Cage is the big star is he?? Okay... I like Christian too, but hearing him come out to his TNA theme song, and seeing Sting on the show, makes me believe that Kurt Angle will be soon to follow. The TNA invasion of AEW in 2021 is gonna be lit!

It’s just the way some things are done. Kenny’s heel turn was rough, are the Good Brothers heels or are The Bucks heels? A lot of things come off choppy and not fluid. I feel like the commentary does more explaining what happened versus the visuals. Also I thought the PPV was fantastic. Ethan Page wasn’t ready for that spot. Christian will be a big boost to Dynamite but he’s not a game changer. The main event was good but final explosion did suck. AEW isn’t experienced enough to call that audible to make it seem like Kenny pranked them. I think this week on Dynamite should be them cleaning up any issues from the PPV. Also it’s time for AEW to cut some guys. just because characters aren't black and white doesn't mean there isn't a story being told, it allows for a story to not be so simplistic as 'he's good and he's bad!'' people complain about wwe, and then when given a legitimate alternative think it's badly designed since they base everything on wwe. it's redundant. Every wrestler can’t be shades of grey. Basic psychology does need to be practiced somewhat, it allows for matches and stories to be better told.
