Well, you know what. It's about time I made a dedicated thread for this. Seeing as how almost every custom I make is a McMahon custom, I figured I would make a thread to show them off. I know it probably seems weird that I primarily make customs of them, but hey. I commit crafting acts of passion. I'm a McMahon Fan. It's just who I am. Anyway! First of all, let me show off what I have so far. "Best in the World" Shane McMahon w/SmackDown Tag Title and World Cup (My first custom and, IMHO, probably my best)
Recipe:
Elite 50 Shane Head (Repainted) Summerslam Elite Dean Ambrose Body (Repainted) Best of the Attitude Era Triple H Jacket (Altered to make smaller) Barbie Trophy (Trimmed, Sculpted, and Painted)
Marissa Mazzola-McMahon
I hate the paint job on her face. I really want to redo it, I know I can do better. However, I may just make another. I have TWO spare Brie Bellas right now, so who knows. Recipe: Nikki Bella Wrestlemania Battle Pack Head (Repainted and Sculpted Hair) Alexa Bliss B104 Body (Repainted) Linda McMahonThat dang jacket made my hand hurt, but I'm proud of it. The head needs work though. I'm posting these in order of my making them, BTW. So, for the most part, you can see how I've improved. (Hopefully) Recipe: Custom Warsman Head (Painted) Basic Suited Stephanie Body (Altered and repainted) B61 Natalya Feet Vince McMahonThis one is more of a fix-up. I can't afford the Mail Away figure, so I made my own. Recipe: Base Figure is a custom Vince I bought off 'Bay, made from Triple H body and Vince head. I then repainted the whole thing.
Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley w/Women's Title
Again, more of a fix up really. Recipe: Milk O Mania Steph Head (Touched up) Elite 65 Ronda Rousey Body (Repainted) Ultimate Edition Ronda Jacket Piece Added Shirt Decal Women's Title Corporate Euro Champ Shane McMahon w/Belt Again, more of a fixup for this one. WM 36 Shane Head (Touched up) Battle Pack 46 Shane Body (Repainted) European Title And finally, the most recent completion... "Triumphant Return" Shane McMahon
Good GOLLY those Jordans were a pain. I still don't think they're perfect, but I could muk with them forever and not be happy. They're fine. Recipe: Battle Pack 46 Shane (Full Repaint) Well, that's all of my old customs. I'll make further posts to keep you updated on new stuff!

Updated 1/28 WIP Shot: "Innocent" Stephanie McMahon So, I decided to try something. Seeing as how those Milk O Mania Steph figs are getting hard to come by, I decided to try and fix up the alternate head into a Pre-Armageddon '99 figure. This is my In-Progress result. Once I painted the face as "Proof of Concept" I trimmed the old "Wet" hair and her earrings off and got to work sculpting. She won't be able to move her head when the Milliput dries, but I'm fine with that. She just needs to look pretty. The body is from an old SMH custom (Also made from Milk Steph) I made that I ripped the head from. Once her head (and altered legs) set, I need to return her arms, sand the legs (not shown, I don't want to post pictures this early on) and give the whole thing a coat of paint. I think it's gonna turn out well.

New Custom Completed!
Innocent Victim Stephanie McMahon Finally, a full blown custom again! I think I'm getting better at sculpting. Also, I didn't have access a spare Stephanie suited figure, so I made due with what I had and just sculpted it to fit. I think it came out nicely!
Recipe:
Milk-O-Mania "Drenched" Stephanie Head (Repainted, altered, and sculpted hair) Milk-O-Mania Steph body (Repainted w/Pants sculpted) Brie Bella Battle Pack 43 Arms (Repainted) Random set of hands I had in my box. Anyway, there you go! Another McMahon Custom completed!

These are actually pretty nice
I like the sculpt work that you have done, make sure to smooth the sculpt a bit though. You can take your finger and use a tad bit of water and "wipe" the sculpt to really smooth it down so that you dont have finger prints in it.
Nice paint work as well, be sure to sand down any rough spots so that it doesnt look chunky. People say to thin down the paint, but i hardly ever did that when I did customs a decade+ ago, and they still turned out good.

People say to thin down the paint, but i hardly ever did that when I did customs a decade+ ago, and they still turned out good. Thanks. For the record, I did try to smooth out the sculpt. It didn't work too well. It messed up the sculpt and I had to go back and try again. I think my Milliput needs replaced, it is exceedingly dry and crackley. I plan to get more soon, the old box is just about empty. Hopefully, when I get new materials that play nicer, I can have better results. Second: Regarding thinning the paint. For a long time I used really cheap paint. It didn't work well at all and I would have to fight the medium just to get any results. Every one of the customs you see above here except for the "Return" Shane was made with old, craptastic paint. Stephanie, while made after the last Shane, was made before I had broadened out my color range and still involved sub-par paint. I've since switched to Citadel and the results are infinitely better. As for the sanding, that's my bad. I'm stull learning and I didn't realize you needed to really sand things. The one I finished recently I tried to do much better with the sanding, although I keep having issues with forethought. Stuff like "Sand off the old shirt BEFORE you sculpt on the new one" and the such. But gradually, I think I'm getting better. Thanks so much for your response. I'm still learning and picking up new techniques every day. Two nights ago, I did my first successful lower leg swap on a Doctor Who figure (the rest of the figure came out trash though, will have to try again). I have another I'm gonna post here shortly. I think it's one of my best yet.

Updated 2/3/21 New Custom!
SmackDown Commish Shane McMahon
Recipe:
Summerslam Elite Dean Ambrose torso and legs Paul Ellering BAF Jacket Arms BP 46 Shane McMahon head and Jacket Full paint job + Sculpted on sweater
This one was sitting around incomplete in a box for ages. I didn't know what to do with him. I had planned on making a white sweater Shane but realized I didn't really have the arms available for him. Well, I recently used another BP Suit Shane for a custom and removed his jacket, plus I had a pair of Paul Ellering arms from the Chyna figure, so it occurred to me I could put him in his jacket!
The sweater is sculpted on and, as stated above, it didn't occur to me to sand down the tank top line BEFORE I sculpted it (a year or so ago). So that's a bit BLEGH. But other than that, I like him. Someday, I'll figure out a way to either sculpt on or foot swap Jordans. They're a glaring omission here.
But for what I can do, it works. I like it. More incoming soon!

I promise I will take it to heart and continue trying to improve. I have plans for several more customs including WrestleMania X-Seven Stephanie. Besides the Milliput I just discovered the existence of head stands! I didn't even know those were a thing, I've been trying to hold the heads while I'm painting/sculpting them! So hopefully, as I progress, I will continue to improve. Thanks again!

You can use cheap paints if you know how to use them. thats one of the biggest misconceptions i always see. These were done with Aves Apoxie and cheap walmart brushes and paint. I always put the figures together first and then paint them while holding them.

Ive done customs for almost 20 years. You can use cheap paints if you know how to use them. thats one of the biggest misconceptions i always see. These were done with Aves Apoxie and cheap walmart brushes and paint. I always put the figures together first and then paint them while holding them. Wow! Those are amazing! Technically, my very first customs were made in 2002, but I had no idea what I was doing and the results were awful. LOL! I didn't want to invest any money in them whatsoever, so I literally created my first custom using sharpie, nail polish, and white out. It was the most wretched cobble job I've ever seen. The second custom I made I actually used paints but my skills with sculpting were so bad that I gave up customizing after that. I didn't try again for 15 years. I dabbled around in Doctor Who customization for about a year there, but gave up because DW figures are so un-friendly for customs. None of the parts match! One day, I found my original custom in a box and decided to fix her up. Again, minimal effort put in, but I did use proper paint this time and a small printed graphic, and she looked way better, although still not good by any stretch. This is a photo of the fixed up custom. I think it was done about a year or so ago. As you can see, I had no concept whatsoever of thinning paint, sanding, anything really. I just painted over the old nail varnish and stuff. Also, the cape was my first attempt at sewing something for a figure and I don't think I've really tried that again since. But it did ignite something in me and I've been dabbling around in WWE customs ever since. I thank you again for your advice. You're much better at this than I am but then 20 years of experience works wonders!

The Super Molly still looks pretty nice considering those setbacks. Kinda makes me wish Mattel would make one now that Hurricane has been realized.
EDIT: I HAVE RISEN TO SUPERSTARDOM!!!

My brother made a Linda McMahon custom and I like the head he used. I could to ask him which one it was for you if you were interested. Oooh, could you? I'd love to make a better one, or possibly just head swap the one I made.
Anything you can help with would be appreciated. I'm currently still trying to scrounge together enough funds to both pre-order AES S5 and purchase some fodder bodies for my next projects. I need an Elite Style Suited Stephanie for the one, yet another Elite Ambrose plus an open Ellering Jacket and arms for another, and I'm still working on scaling issues on a couple more.
Plus heads. Always in need of heads. In a perfect world, they'd release a new basic using the same head sculpt and paint apps as the Summerslam Ref figure (minus the facial hair). That was the best one they ever made but dang is it hard to come by. I hate having to spend 20-25 dollars for a HEAD. (Which is why I've just been repainting the pre-TrueFX heads.) That WM15 Basic was a godsend in that it was a widely unloved figure meaning I can still get them reasonably cheap to rip heads from. But, as with all mattel figures, as time passes, figures increase in price, and yeah.

NEW CUSTOM! "It Took Five Men..." Hardcore Champion Shane McMahon
Recipe: Battle Pack 46 Shane Body (full repaint, jacket and shoe-tongue's removed) WM15 Basic Shane Head (with touchups)
Well, this one has been sitting nearly completed for about two? three? months now. Finally finished him. Those BP46 bodies are really going to be my goto for Attitude Era Shane figures until something better comes out, aren't they? I mean, there are other options, but none quite as simple and since elite articulation isn't a dealbreaker for me, I'm cool with it. It has the elite arms, that's all that really matters for me, although I wish I had a way to swap the feet. I need those Jordans for elsewhere.
Anyway, this one was pretty simple and, for the record, was where the jacket for Commissioner Shane came from. I will say this is the last custom I have (had) done using non-citadel paints. We shall see if I ever return to the craft paints but I'm just so enamored with the citadel that I doubt it. At least the satin-grey paint let me get the sheen of his shirt right. (The shirt is satin paint, his pants are matte, and his shoes are glossy. No, he isn't sealed, I have to figure out some way to seal each section separately to keep the unique paint tones.)
Oh, and at some point, I'm going to tweak the belt. As you all know, the Mattel hardcore belts are missing some of the more colorful details. I'd love to add those blue and red bits back in, so hopefully I can do that at some point. Till then, here you go. Another one completed.

Arms may be too thin, but I wonder how that Shane would look with Zeb Colter arms. I used them on a suit Triple H body for a random custom and thought they looked decent although a bit thin compared to the torso.
Edit: He said he used a Stargate Agent Carter head for his Linda McMahon.

I think if you used the head scan of basic 59 or 43 Eva Marie, it would look like Linda. This face has the cheeks bones and a smother jaw line that would fit as Linda; once you swap the hairstyle and change her eyebrow design of course lol

It's not perfect mind you, but it's better than what I have now. Also, my photoshop skills are trash when it comes to freehand so I'm sure once I would get to sculpting, it would come out better. The very big question that would make or break it is... does she have an ear hidden under that big red hair. Because Mattel has been known to skimp on ears before if they know they'll be covered. Linda's hairstyle shows her ears, so if Eva doesn't have a left ear that matches her right, it won't work unless I also sculpt an ear, which I'm not sure I'm that good at sculpting.

Edit: He said he used a Stargate Agent Carter head for his Linda McMahon. Ah yes. Samantha Carter. The "Replicator" version works extremely well for a Linda figure. ... which is why I've been looking for an inexpensive Replicator Samantha Carter figure for 10 years now LOL.
No really, those Stargate figures are really stonking expensive, especially when you're just gonna use them for customs. It's bad enough for me to pay 40 dollars for a MOC figure I want, but I'm not about to pay 50 dollars plus shipping for a loose Stargate figure that I'm simply ripping the head off! (Yes, that's how much that figure goes for.)
So more than likely I'm going to try the Eva Marie approach. There's more work involved, but it will be a fun (maybe) challenge.
First, I get X-Seven Stephanie done though. That one is going to be my next task. Right now I plan on using a spare Nikki Bella torso and arms with Suited Stephanie legs, plus a bit of creative sanding/sculpting. Full repaint plus decals, toss on Milk-O-Mania Stephanie head, and TADA, it should work... I hope. I just need to get my hands on one of those Elite style Stephs.

If only making head casts were easier. I'd be doing that for a lot of things I already have.
