Ok, so I know everything about this has been talked to death at this point, but I just recently watched the Broken Skull Sessions with Kurt Angle and a story about it has me confused. According to Kurt, Vince drunk on wine kept trying to wrestle with Kurt to the point the that they fighting against the emergency door. A flight attendant tells them they need to sit down and Vince yells at her that he will buy the plane. Funny story right? But isn’t that exactly what happened between Brock and Hennig that lead to Hennig being fired, only to did shortly after due to cocaine overdose? If all of this is true, was Hennig just a sacrifice for the mistakes of everyone?

Wasn't Scott Hall also fired for this? I think Curt was an unfortunate sacrifice. Looking back at his time on and off with WWF in the 1990s I think Vince really had hopes that he would be a long term employee in some capacity, like his hope for Bret Hart or Hulk Hogan as the Babe Ruth. But maybe a step down from a Babe Ruth type for Curt. Vince was always trying to find something new for him to do much like Billy Graham a few years earlier. Only problem was Curt kept bolting. I can see Vince harboring some resentment about that but I can also see Brock Lesnar being his new toy and wanting to please him more than anyone so unless it was a major star like Rock or Austin, anyone was expendable if they tried to take Brock. Curt also was a guy who pushed the envelope so at that stage of his career he probably wasn't worth the trouble. Sad thing is I think he still had "IT" and maybe could have been used in some capacity with the company even if not as a full time wrestler. He died a few years before nostalgia became popular and the WWE Legends contracts came about. If he had lived a few years longer he could have been a great guy to work with the newcomers or do some backstage work.

What happened between Curt Hennig and Brock Lesnar in the plane ride from hell? Weve all heard how they were tussling and Lesnar slammed Hennig against the emergency exit door, but in TNA, in every promo Curt Hennig did, he talked about smacking Lesnar and getting a single leg takedown on him on the plane.

Wasn't Scott Hall also fired for this? I might be mixing up who said it, but I think Jim Ross said Hall was sleeping during the flight and his release had more to do with his condition on the tour.

I don't get how Steve says that the Taker/Angle/Vince plane ride from hell happened at the same time when Austin almost took Taker's ear off with his knee brace.
So my guess is, that every time they flew back from the UK for one of those PPVs, that they had a "plane ride from hell."
Because everyone talks about the 2002 Plane Ride from Hell, but clearly the one they talk about is from 2001.

Exactly, cause Kurt wouldn't have even been on the 2002 one, he was a Smackdown guy at the time, and the Raw roster went over to the UK in April of 2002 for that event.

I think Hennig doing that was a weird mutual respect thing for a fellow Minnesotan and legit athlete

I was at the PPV that the 2002 plane ride followed. Crazy to think that I was flying home and that flight was currently taking place, haha.
