Died due to heart complications. So sad. I was a fan. Great star in Mid South, WWF, and WCW. Doom was an underrated tag team.

Terrible news. He was a legit bad ass who you didn't want to mess with. After he left wrestling, he worked as a cowboy. Very tough work.
I agree that Doom was a very underrated team.

I heard both the Steiners messed with him. Duc taping in the locker room. They didn't do that to Ron Simmons because he's a legit badass. Not saying Butch wasn't tough, but why did they mess with him and not Ron? |

yeah, it's kinda like what I said an hour before this one on the main page. I don't go on the current wwe page and neither do a lot of people that go on the classic page. Besides Butch is a wrestler from the classic era so when I saw it wasn't posted here, I decided to create the thread. |

I was just watching some of his matches from when he went to WCW, right before Doom. He was so good. Very underrated.

RIP The Natural was awesome! wish he got the IC belt for a bit! Doom was KICK ARSE! like others said, very underatted! Loved when they feuded with the horseman for a short bit there! I am actually in the April 1984 Mid South Wrestling era on the WWE Network, and Butch Reed is such a huge part of it. Just last night I actually was thinking, "I wonder what Butch is up to right now?" Then today I see the horrible news.

This one really hurts me. Butch was an old friend of a friend of mine and I got to meet him in 2017 for maybe two minutes but those two minutes were pretty great. He had back problems and couldn't stand for a lot of fan photo ops but when he did stand he looked like he could still kick butt but didn't seem like a wrestler who would purposely hurt someone. Despite his heel persona as a wrestler he was really kind and sweet in his mannerisms, very soft spoken.
