The real question is why make retros at all? They stopped making them for a reason.

We knew the retro line was going to be more modern guys than Legends because at then end of the day they were still toys that needed to have a major child’s appeal. So the modern roster was going to have a heavy presence in it.
As for Ryder I know he’s a member here and I have said numerous times I didn’t care for his gimmick. Especially the “woo woo woo” stuff. Never have and never will. I don’t watch the podcast the only Ryder figure I ever purchased was his first Elite. (E9?). But like I said on page 1 he deserves one more than any of us. And I have to wonder if this thread is still about people being hurt/pissed over whatever it was he had said about the FB series 3 Race figure? And if that’s what it’s about you need to let it go already.

As a fellow long islander, no he didn't deserve one.

His figure seemed to have sold as well as main eventers like Dean, Seth, Oldberg, Jeff Hardy, and Braun so sure, why not?

He did help promote WWE Mattel figures on his and WWE's channel (even starting a podcast about figure). Also ended up being good friends with Bill (enough to slap him across the chest). I voted no, but I think he earned one for his efforts.

I would think most people would sway the other way. Keep classic guys coming and use new guys very sparingly Not that tough to foresee that when creating the line. Not seeing the child’s appeal. It’s completely nostalgic for adults

It’s completely nostalgic for adults Because both Mattel & Hasbro have said multiple times every mass retail toy line needs to have a strong children’s appeal for it to last at retail. Collectors asked for a Hasbro style line and they gave it to you as a modern take on the Hasbro style. The line was never going to be an extension of the Hasbro line with wrestlers the kids never heard of. I think Mattel did a good job of getting the Legends they did into the line.

If u like ryder then u will most likely say y and same if u dislike him. As for me , definitely no. All his custom hasbros hes bought have spread so much false information to new fans. Back on topic. If. U say thathe should have gotten one, myers definitely should have gotten one two. Id have gotten multiple hawkins figures. Nuff said.

That would be like Hasbro releasing Squirrel Girl and Into the Spiderverse Gwen and Spidey in their Retro ToyBiz line. Never happen in a million years We will just have to agree to disagree. If they would not have done Series 3 like they did (all modern) this line may still be kicking But instead we are getting everybody and their brother making these or going to make them, except Mattel 🤦♂️

He was never over and won 0 singles titles in his multiple runs with the company.

Did Sheamus and Finn Balor deserve them? No, but they got ones. Not seeing a problem here.

I was fine with it. Would I rather have others instead? Of course, but it was a good figure & there could have been a lot worse.

Mattel ed the entire Retro line. But now we’re getting Dino Bravo designed by Ron Rudat. “Sometimes the bad things that happen in our lives put us directly on the path to the best things that will ever happen to us.” - Live, Laugh, Love

WTH. The icing on the cake was that app thing that nobody wanted... I mean, putting something like that on a early '90's inspired line was just baffling.

I just saw on Instagram concept art for an upcoming British Bulldogs Dynamite Kid. If that is in fact true I will be getting that.

No. He has stated this to. At the time of release he had almost zero TV time. I actually think he was in NXT when this hit stores. So it was just Mattel doing something for him based on friendship. There was obviously way more deserving and others that could have been better sellers.

Sure. If it wasnt for Ryder, I'm not sure the retro line makes it past series 2. He created a ton of hype for it.
