Since I'm from Old Jersey...
Bam!! Bam!!
Wrestlemania X Mixed tag team match Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon defeated Doink the Clown and Dink the Clown
Wrestlemania XI Singles match with Pat Patterson as special guest referee Lawrence Taylor defeated Bam Bam Bigelow (with Ted DiBiase)
Wrestlemania XII He did not appear at the Show of the Immortals, but he did win Championship Title Belts everywhere else he went during this time.

But was jobbing to Lawrence Taylor at the Hartford Civic Center a good thing or a bad thing?

These are all so good selections that have been picked!
I honestly can't think of any right now.
Okay, I will say one... Shawn Michaels
Rise: Defeating Bret Hart for the WWF Title at WM12
Fall: Not wanting to compete at Wrestlemania 13 because he would have to drop the WWF Title back to Bret Hart. We all know that knee injury wasn't a career threatening injury there, HBK!

Hard not to think about Brock from his initial run. He left WrestleMania XIX triumphant as champion (albeit concussed) and seemed destined to be their franchise player in the main event scene for years to come. Of course, he would be gone the very next year and booed out of the building after one of the worst WrestleMania matches ever.
I always find myself fascinated with his first stint in WWE because it was so dominant and explosive for a short period of time and then it suddenly was over. Just like an F5 tornado poetically enough.

There's a ton of wrestlers who wrestled on mainia's that were not in promotion or on the card next year so those shouldnt really count, we could list 100 easily.

I always find myself fascinated with his first stint in WWE because it was so dominant and explosive for a short period of time and then it suddenly was over. Just like an F5 tornado poetically enough. I guess technically on paper he was still facing Goldberg in what was supposed to be an Interpromotional Dream Match, but I get what you mean in terms of how things actually panned out. Rise, Eddie Guerrero. Went from filling a spot in a WWE Tag Team Championship 3 Way Match at Wrestlemania XIX, to beating Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship and closing out the biggest Wrestlemania of all time (at that point) showering in confetti. Given the stacked nature of the card in 2003, and the likes of Brock Lesnar, Goldberg, Stone Cold, The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Triple H, Undertaker, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Chris Jericho all in the Main Event picture, nobody would have predicted that. Rise, Chris Benoit. The exact same as above, though was partnering with Rhyno at Wrestlemania XIX. Though technically you could say he went on to Fall, by filling a spot in the MITB Ladder Match the following year at Wrestlemania 21, though it was an inaugural MITB and a fairly unique deal at the time.

Bret has a nice little redemption story between WrestleMania IX and WrestleMania X as well.

Fall: RVD - Wins IC Title at WM18, only to be on the pre-show the next year.
Fall: Booker T - Goes from fighting for the world title at WM19, to a 4-way tag match the next year (and then the pre-show the next).

sgt slaughter down to mid-low card jobber at mania8! That 8 man match had to be awful for the wrestlers. Like they knew the writing was on the wall that they were going nowhere. The only ones really not falling from the prev. mania time period were Mountie and Repo Man. Nastys would fair a little bit better by the end of 1992 but not much. Duggan, Virgil, Bossman and Slaughter would never bounce back.

Might be a tough call but:
Bad News Brown - Fall - Mania 4-5 - It's interesting that Brown won the tournament and feuded with Hogan but Mania 5 he draws with Duggan because neither one can lose. Then Mania 6 he gets Piper. How in the world Brown could have feuds with Hogan and Piper, arguably the two biggest stars of the 80s, yet never get a run with at least the IC title is mind blowing to me.

Fall for Mr. 1-Derful Paul Orndorff. He main evented Mania 1 in one of the greatest things ever, and at Mania 2 he jerked the curtain in a forgettable double dq with The Magnificent Muraco. LOL and no, the "taunt" Orndorff did to Fuji is not memorable!
It would have been interesting if Andre wasn't able to make it to Mania 3. Orndorff was suppose to have been the substitute. Then that would have been a big rise.

Orndorff would have been better off in JCP since they focused on the heel having the belt and face chases it. He would have been good for a feud with Dusty though the Hogan feud was pretty amazing at the time.
