wondering why he never came back to wwf or wcw during the monday night wars!
he would have been a great addition to the nation of domination!

Wasn't there a real life issue between him & Simmons? Not a big issue or anything but they werent all that friendly or something? Thought I read that...but another issue may have been Reeds age.
He was into his 40s in 1997 & Vince was pushing youth within the Nation. At 37 Farooq was booted from the group because Vinnie wanted younger guys in there to let the Rocks star shine.

Even still there was 1993-1996 also and WWF was perfect for him then. Then later WCW had alot of fellow old school guys and Bischoff was bringin everyone back with a name. Man, would really love to know why he didnt come back.

From what I can remember of Reed's career, he did show in WCW in 1992 for a Clash of the Champions event. He tagged with the Barbarian I wanna say vs. Barry Windham and Dustin Rhodes. That's when Cactus Jack was managing Barbarian, Tony Atlas and then that night, Reed.
Reed ended up going to the Global Wrestling Federation as a baby face to try and win the GWF Title much like how Ron won the WCW World Title. I remember they even said that on the broadcast.
My guess is that Butch was just tired of wrestling, tired of the road and such in the mid - late 90s.
