Man go back and look at some of those house show and dark main event lineups from 92. Wild wild stuff. Before mania you have touring loops with the main events being Macho vs Jake in a cage, or Hogan and Flair vs Piper and Justice and then by the Spring you have Main events of Warrior vs Papa Shango and Undertaker vs Berzerker. I mean hell there are lineups with Ric Flair and the freaking Berzerker teaming up in the main event. Just looking there are some wild wild wild main events in WWE 1992, just throwing anything against the way to see what works.

Perfect example of 1992 having such random, weird main event matches!

92 felt like a interesting year; never watched to much of this time. But it felt like the last really bright light for a while.

I was fortunate enough to attend two different house shows during the summer of '92. Both had the main even go on just before intermission, with the semi-main closing out the show.
Boise, ID (June 1992) Main event: World champ Randy Savage defeated Ric Flair by reverse decision. Flair used brass knuckles to KO Savage for the pin, but the ref caught wind of it and DQ'd Flair. Semi-main: The Undertaker pinned the Berserker.
Salt Lake City, UT (July 1992) Main event: The Ultimate Warrior pinned Papa Shango. Semi-main: IC champ Bret Hart pinned HBK.

April 1992 there was a whole tour where the main event was Macho Man vs Mountie This is true but look at the rest of the card. This was the '92 European Rampage Again Tour. The first time that I went to a WWF live event. Repo Man defeated El Matador The Legion Of Doom (Animal & Hawk) defeated The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobbs & Jerry Sags) Sgt. Slaughter defeated Col. Mustafa The British Bulldog defeated Ric Flair Bret Hart (c) fought Shawn Michaels to a Double Count Out. Bret Hart retained the WWF Intercontinental Championship Jim Duggan defeated Dino Bravo Randy Savage (c) defeated The Mountie to retain the WWF Championship
