What's up with Revolution having these gimmick matches.
Street fight
Exploding ring death match
Is all this necessary in one night?And does it make sense for Omega to make this match that is Moxleys strong suit

I read a really cool Reddit theory about why Kenny chose this match.
Not my theory, I just wish it was:
Kenny chose this match specifically because it tricks Moxley. It seems like it's a Deathmatch in Moxley wheelhouse, but in reality it plays right to Kenny. Moxley biggest weakness is his technical wrestling. In an exploding barbwire match, you can't get to the outside to brawl without fireworks, forcing the action to stay between the ropes for much of the match. Obviously there's a risk Kenny hits the ropes, but he's betting that he can beat Moxley on the mat and send him into the ropes instead, and Mox can't get Kenny to the outside to turn it into a brawl.

I would have more an issue if there had to be an obligatory Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch or two every year, just because the PPV called for it.

wrestlemania x7 had a tlc, a hardcore match, a street fight, and two no dqs. still considered one of the best events of all time. I think revolution will be okay.

Ironically, this is a match Onita (the originator) wanted to do in XPW, but IIRC couldn't get clearance for. If done right, this will rule! The first one I saw was an FMW one with Mr. Pogo and Terry Funk.
