April, 4th 1993 - Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas Nevada!
We see an overhead shot of the Colloseum at Caesar’s Palace with the fans cheering. Vince McMahon does a voiceover “The spectacle.......the grandeur......the Roman Colloseum.... welcome to Wrestlemania IX!!!!” Roman style music hits and we see the crowd going nuts. We go down to a debuting Jim Ross (clad in a Toga)!
“Welcome to Wrestlemania IX!! This is a first for me, both being at a Wrestlemania and wearing this toga! Along side me for this spectacle is Gorilla Monsoon and we are joined by Bobby ‘The Brain’ Heenan!” Heenan starts talking about the end of Hulkamania and the start of a new era in the World Wrestling Federation. He also starts talking about his client Lex Luger taking care of Razor Ramon tonight until JR cuts him off “A huge double main event! Randy ‘Macho Man’ Savage challenging Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart for the World Wrestling Federation Championship! That’s gonna be a hell of a match but let’s kick Wrestlemania off!....Let’s go up to Howard Finkel but today he’s Finkus Maximus....”
We go up to Howard Finkel (in a toga)“The following contest is scheduled for one fall....and it is for the World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship!!” The Steiners enter to a huge pop, Steiners dressed in a gold and black attire (to go with the gold/black ring ropes). The champions, Money Inc enter second to a chorus of boos with Dibiase debuting a white suit and the Tag Team title belts around their waist.
The Steiner Brothers vs. Money Inc - World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship
This match starts off with Rick Steiner and IRS. The two lock up, Rick showing his strength forcing IRS into the corner. The referee breaks up the corner tie up and IRS slaps Rick! The two attempt to lock up again but this time, IRS kicks Rick in the gut and begins throwing numerous right hands. IRS whips Rick into the ropes, Rick leapfrogs a back body drop attempt and nails him with a dropkick, sending IRS crashing down as the crowd cheers. Steiner then follows up with a huge scoop slam and begins to take control of the match. Rick continues to carry on working on IRS hitting him with huge power moves but the tide of the match turns when Rick charges at IRS in the corner but IRS gets his feet up in Rick’s face. IRS starts to ground Rick Steiner, locking in a chin lock on the mat as the crowd try to rally around Rick. Money Inc team up well, cutting the ring off making sure Rick can’t get the tag by tagging each other in quickly and continuing to keep Rick grounded. Dibiase applies a sleeper hold but just when it looks like it’s over for Rick, he feeds off the crowd’s energy and hits Dibiase with a huge back drop! Rick slowly crawls to the corner and finally tags in Scott!! Scott comes in like a house on fire, huge clothesline to Dibiase, a spinebuster on an interfering IRS! The crowd are hot for the Steiners. Scott Steiner takes control of the match and got a near fall after a gorilla press slam on Dibiase. Dibiase starts to gain some momentum after he reverses a frankensteiner into a powerbomb! Dibiase hits 3 fist drops in a row but only gets a two count. The match continues to be back and forth with several tags between the two teams. The closing moments of the match consist of Ted Dibiase locking in a Million Dollar Dream on Scott Steiner. Steiner is fading but manages to muster the strength to charge at IRS while locked in the hold, knocking him off the apron! Dibiase releases the hold and Scott nails him with a powerslam! Scott tags in Rick, afterwards he hoists Dibiase on his shoulders. Rick goes to the top rope and nails Dibiase with the bulldog from Scott’s shoulders! Scott clotheslines IRS as he tries to interfere, Rick covers Dibiase, 1.....2......3!!! Caesars Palace explodes as the Steiner Brothers are the new tag team champions!! Rick and Scott embrace and pose with their newly won titles on the top rope!
Heenan on commentary claims Money Inc were cheated as both Steiners were in the ring at the time of the pinfall but Gorilla and JR ignore him as they watch the replays.
We go backstage where ‘Mean’ Gene Okerlund is standing by with Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler. Okerlund questions Lawler about his recent conduct and shows him footage of him attacking Iron Sheik on Raw (March 8th) Lawler laughs “Ya see Backlund you should of stayed at home after you ran off in 84! I was ruling the wrestling world in the 1980’s and I’m gonna rule the wrestling world again here in the World Wrestling Federation in the 90’s!! Backlund, this is not your time and you should show me respect as your king! Unfortunately for you, I’m gonna have to beat you back into obscurity tonight at Wrestlemania! Long the live the King....” King chuckles and we go back to the ring to the Fink.
Lawler comes out in similar attire to the Royal Rumble, only in a red and black version. The crowd chant ‘Burger King’ as Lawler makes his entrance. Backlund comes out to a reasonable pop in his usual attire.
Bob Backlund vs. Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler
The match begins with Backlund taking down Lawler by his legs but Lawler scrambles out the ring. Lawler wastes time outside by taunting the crowd but once the referee counts up to 8, he reluctantly gets back into the ring. The two men tie up but Lawler pokes Backlund in the eye and then takes Backlund down with a hip toss. Lawler puts the boots to Backlund and keeps him grounded, Lawler locking Backlund in a sleeper hold and when the ref isn’t looking, Lawler would use the ropes for leverage. Backlund’s amateur prowess helps him and eventually he escapes and takes Lawler down with a scoop slam, dropkick and then an arm drag. After a few minutes of Backlund working on various parts of Lawler’s body, Backlund calls for the Chicken wing! Backlund goes behind Lawler, but Lawler hits a low blow which the referee somehow doesn’t see! Lawler rolls Backlund up for a near fall. Lawler keeps the momentum but the match turns when Lawler misses a fist drop from the second rope. Backlund then races behind Lawler and locks in the crossface
chicken wing!! Lawler gives up and Backlund is the presented as the winner as the crowd cheer.
We then go to Jim Ross, Gorilla and The Brain on commentary. Jim Ross introduces us to our next match for the Intercontinental Championship between Shawn Michaels and Mr Perfect and shows us the events leading up to it. We then go to ‘Finkus Maximus’.
“The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship!!” The crowd cheer as Mr Perfect’s music plays. Perfect arrives in a green and yellow singlet. Once Perfect makes his entrance, Shawn Michaels enters the arena to a mixed reaction, Michaels wearing a black and white version of his gear.
Mr Perfect vs. Shawn Michaels (c) - World Wrestling Federation Intercontinental Championship
The match starts with both men trying to gain an advantage, Perfect taking down Shawn with a waist lock but Michaels wiggling his way out of it and both up to a standing position. The two men tie up again and Michaels gets Perfect in a headlock, forced into the ropes, Perfect whips Michaels off the ropes, leapfrog by Michaels but both men go for a drop kick as Perfect turns around as the crowd cheer and both men return to a standing position. This initial battle ends when Michaels nails Perfect with a right hand, Michaels rolls him up but only a two count. Michaels then goes for a hip toss, Perfect lands on his feet and hits Michaels with a clothesline taking him down! With Michaels reeling, Perfect gets some momentum, Perfect catching Michaels with a succession of moves including drop kicks, back body drop and a hip toss which sends Michaels to the outside! Michaels tries to catch a breather but Perfect uses the ropes and slingshot body press onto Michaels outside the ring! Perfect pumps the crowd up and they cheer. Perfect rolls Michaels into the ring and is in control until Perfect is countered by a DDT when trying to hit his Perfect Plex. Michaels then becomes dominant, and hammers away on Perfect, Michaels locks in a figure four and after being in the hold for a couple of minutes, Perfect reaches the ropes. Michaels drags Perfect back into the middle of the ring and hits him with a catapult which sends Perfect face first into the ring post!! Michaels becomes cocky and tries to pin Perfect with one foot but Perfect kicks out. Michaels then hits Perfect with a knee drop before going to the top rope. Michaels looks as though he’s going to hit an elbow drop but Perfect gets to his feet and crotches Michaels on the top! This is followed by a huge top rope suplex in which both men are down for a while. The ref counts up to 7 and they start stirring, Perfect reaching his feet first. As Michaels tries to reach his feet, Perfect hits him with a huge knee lift which only gets him a two count. Perfect goes for the Perfect Plex but again Michaels gets out of it and hits Perfect with a super kick to the face! Michaels covers, 1....2.....no! Perfect gets the shoulder up, these two giving it all for the Intercontinental Title. Michaels this time goes to the top tope and hits his flying elbow drop, 1....2......and again Perfect rolls the shoulder up! Michaels goes for his Tear Drop Suplex but Perfect counters and drives Michaels into the mat with a bulldog! Perfect then catapults Michaels into the corner and this time Michaels hits the ring post! Perfect hits a dazed Shawn with the Perfect Plex as he comes out the corner!! 1............2............NO!!! Michaels somehow kicks out!! Perfect can’t believe it and remonstrates with the referee as the crowd are at a fever pitch. Perfect goes to lock in a figure four leg lock but Michaels counters it, kicking Perfect into the corner, shoulder first into the turnbuckle! Michaels rolls up Perfect while pulling the tights, 1.........2...........3!!!! Michaels got him!!! Michaels quickly leaves the ring and is given his belt. He holds it up as he saunters to the back.
Perfect is left frustrated in the ring and questions the referee about the tights being pulled. Jim Ross and Gorilla question Michaels scruples but Heenan states “It’s not cheating if you dont get caught! A wonderful performance by Shawn Michaels!” Jim Ross responds “It’s a damn shame that a match that good ended the way it did and an athlete of the calibur of Shawn Michaels needed to cheat to win tonight! Hell of a match though....”
We then go backstage to Gene Okerlund and we see the bust of Julius Caesar with clown facepaint on it! We then see Doink chuckling as Okerlund asks “what’s the meaning of defacing this beautiful piece of art!?” Doink continues chuckling but then looks serious. Doink (wearing Tatanka’s feathers) states “It’s funny Gene!! Do you not have a sense of humour!?” Gene responds “I tell you someone who doesn’t have a sense of humour tonight and that’s your opponent Tatanka! Especially after he was concussed at the hands of you and that other clown....” We then see footage of the second Doink attacking Tatanka in the build up for this match. Gene continues “Are you worried that Tatanka will put an end to your fun and games tonight? He’s undefeated for a reason.....” Doink cuts Gene off, “Enough!!!! Now everybody was asking me about the second Doink like it was a big conspiracy theory but there’s only one of me! It was an illusion Gene, that’s what we clowns do, we play tricks! Hopefully tonight at Wrestlemania Tatanka......you wont be seeing double vision...” Doink laughs manically and walks off and we are ready for our next match.
Tatanka’s music plays throughout the arena and Tatanka charges to the ring to a huge ovation! Tatanka means business tonight. He does his native dance around the ring and awaits the entrance of Doink. The referee looks to check under the ring for another Doink! He doesn’t appear to find anything. Doink’s music plays and he comes out with Tatanka’s feathers in a headdress. Doink taunts the fans in the front row down the aisle.
Tatanka vs. Doink The Clown
The match starts with Doink avoiding Tatanka and whenever Tatanka gets near him he climbs out of the ring and laughs. Eventually Tatanka has enough of this and chases him around the ring. Doink manages to trip and Tatanka hammers away on Doink! The crowd cheer as Tatanka repeatedly rams Doink’s head into the steel steps before rolling him into the ring. Doink pleads with Tatanka for forgiveness but to no avail as Tatanka puts the boots to Doink. Tatanka whips Doink off the ropes and catches him on his return with a powerslam! Tatanka gets a near fall. Doink eventually gains some momentum after raking Tatanka in the eyes and Doink tries to ground Tatanka. After applying a sleeper hold for a lengthy period of time, Doink goes to the top for the Whoopee Cushion but Tatanka moves out the way!! Tatanka then chops away at Doink, feeding off the energy of the crowd and he begins to do his war dance around the ring. Tatanka hits Doink with a flying shoulder block which sends Doink crashing down to the mat! Tatanka climbs to the top and measures Doink before hitting a Tomahawk Chop! Doink is out if it but Tatanka picks him up and then hits him with the ‘Papoose to go’ (Samoan Drop) for the 1.......2.......3! Tatanka’s undefeated streak continues with a win over Doink!
After the match, Tatanka retrieves his sacred eagle feathers but not for long as the second Doink appears from under the ring! The second Doink nails Tatanka again with a cast from behind like he did before! Both Doinks mirror each other’s movements and laugh in the ring. They head to the back, walking in sync with each other as officials check on Tatanka. Heenan on commentary quips “I can’t believe it, how does Doink do that!? He can make himself in two places at once! What an illusion...we’re here in Vegas, Copperfield could learn a thing or two from this guy!” Monsoon responds with “Will you stop!?”
Next we head to Todd Pettengill who is in crowd (clad in a toga) asking fans who they think will leave as the WWF Champion tonight. Some fans say Savage, some say Bret in a very mixed response. “Seems as though we have a very mixed opinion here in the Roman Colosseum, one thing is for sure, it’s going to be a classic....back to you at ringside Jim Ross!”
Jim Ross introduces the next match which is The Undertaker vs. Bam Bam Bigelow and we go backstage to Mean Gene Okerlund who is standing with Bam Bam Bigelow and Luna Vachon. “Well Bam Bam after weeks of taunting....tonight you may finally meet your maker in the form of The Undertaker...” Bigelow responds “Blah Blah.....I’m so sick of everybody talking about The Undertaker and how spooky he is and how he possesses magical powers but y’know it’s gonna take a lot more than magic to defeat Bam Bam Bigelow. Deadman, I’m gonna make an example of you tonight and afterwards you can disappear....for good!” Bigelow and Luna leave the interview area as Bam Bam’s music hits the arena.
Bigelow enters the arena to mostly boos, looking ready for a fight and not intimidated by what he is about to face. We hear a ‘gong’ in the arena and we see green smoke pour out from the entrance way. Then appears a horse and cart led by Paul Bearer with two druids with a black carriage with The Undertaker ominously sitting in the cart, expressionless. Undertaker makes his way into the ring in his usual manner.
Bam Bam Bigelow w/Luna Vachon vs. The Undertaker w/Paul Bearer
The match begins with Bigelow ambushing Taker from behind just before the bell rings. Bigelow hits Taker with overhead punches which have very little effect on the deadman. Bigelow forces Taker to the corner and chokes him with his foot in the throat, Bigelow starting the match on the front foot. Taker stumbles around near the ropes and Bigelow hits him with a huge dropkick knocking Taker down to the mat. Bigelow taunts the crowd but Taker sits up! Bigelow then puts the boots to Taker and comes off the rope for an elbow drop but Taker sits up, causing Bigelow to miss! Taker gets to his feet and starts nailing Bam Bam with uppercuts sending the big man reeling into the ropes. Taker catches Bigelow with a big boot to the face which sends Bigelow flying over the top rope much to the delight of the crowd! Taker follows Bigelow out of the ring and rams his head into the ring post! Bigelow is dazed and Undertaker rolls Bigelow in the ring. Suddenly, Luna tries to sneak up behind Taker but Taker catches her and turns his head in her direction! Taker stalks Luna outside the ring but Bigelow exits the ring and out of nowhere clotheslines Taker from behind sending him over the steel steps! Bigelow rolls back into the ring and taunts the crowd before pulling Taker back onto the apron by the hair however Taker counters with a neckbreaker snapping Bigelow’s neck over the top rope and bringing Bigelow to the mat. Taker climbs back into the ring and stalks Bigelow and sets up for old school! Taker ascends to the top rope and walks the rope, however Bigelow counters and delivers a huge armdrag to Taker from the tope rope to the mat with huge impact! Bigelow covers but only gets a two count. Bigelow grounds Taker with a sleeper hold but Taker feeds off the energy of the urn and the fans and reverses it into a back suplex! Taker gains power from his urn and is in full control of the match hitting Bigelow with uppercuts, a scoop slam and a big clothesline! Taker then attempts old school again and this time connects! Taker signals for the end and springs off the rope and levels Bigelow with a flying clothesline! 1....2.....near fall! Taker shows no emotion and signals for a chokeslam, he grabs Bigelow by the throat but Bigelow counters and out of nowhere hits a belly to belly suplex! Undertaker does his usual kneel in the ring facing the urn while Luna helps Bam Bam to the match. Jim Ross on commentary comments “What a match!! Bigelow gave everything he had there but it just wasn’t enough to get the better of the Undertaker! A hard fought match but tonight Bigelow met his maker.....”
We go backstage to Gene Okerlund who is standing by with Yokozuna and Mr Fuji. “Mr Fuji tonight this behemoth next to you not only gets a chance to become the number one contender for the WWF Championship but also gets a chance to end Hulkamania for good.....what are you thoughts heading in to this huge match?” Fuji responds “My Yokozuna is ready to take the World Wrestling Federation Championship from whoever is the champion after tonight. First though we need to destroy that yellow coward Hulk Hogan. Hogan your time is up, it’s the end for you. The mighty Yokozuna has already put you in hospital once and tonight.....he’s planning on destroying Hulkamania once and for all, then he will become the WWF Champion!” Yoko ends the interview with “Banzaaiiiii” as both men leave the interview area.
We then go to a pre recorded interview with Hulk Hogan hosted by Sean Mooney “Hulkster, we are just a short time away from part one of our double main event, when you battle the mighty.....undefeated ......Yokozuna! What strategy do you have to topple this monster and then go on to once again become the WWF Champion at the King of The Ring?” Hulkster responds with “Well y’know something brother, there’s no denying that this is my biggest challenge since Andre The Giant at Wrestlemania 3. I plan to do what I did to Andre and lift this guy over my head and slam him to the mat, possible causing the walls of the Roman Colosseum to crumble! This guy Yokozuna is a monster and I’m gonna need to channel the spirit of the red, white and blue brother. I’m gonna need to think about those American soldiers that fought the Japanese at Pearl Harbour and I’m gonna need to embody their spirit! I know it’s my destiny to once again wear the gold but tonight it’s about me toppling yet another giant! So Yoko, watcha gonna do when Hulkamania and 17,000 toga clad Romans run wilddd on youuuuu” Hogan flexes at the end of the segment.
We go to ‘Finkus Maximus’ and Yokozuna’s music hits. Yokozuna and Mr Fuji enter with the Japanese Flag, waving it to a chorus of boos from the Vegas crowd. Yoko enters the ring and throws salt on each corner of the ring as is customary for Japanese sumo wrestlers. There is a pause as the Vegas fans start a Hogan chant. Suddenly the guitar riff of ‘Real American’ begins and the crowd go crazy!! Hogan arrives in the arena as red and yellow smoke appears in the entrance way! Hogan charges down to the ring, pointing at Yokozuna as Yoko doesn’t look fazed. Hogan enters the ring and does his usual posing routine.
Yokozuna w/Mr Fuji vs. ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan
Hogan is just throwing his vest to the crowd in the corner of the ring when Yokozuna charges at him!! The bell sounds but Hogan sees Yoko coming at the last second and Yoko crashes face first into the turnbuckle! The crowd are in shock as Heenan on commentary is beside himself with joy!!! “Its dead!!! It’s finally dead!! Hulkamania has died tonight at Wrestlemania IX! Yes!” Gorilla Monsoon is in shock “Will you stop!? I can’t believe Mr Fuji blinded Hogan, allowing Yoko to crush the Hulkster! This is a travesty!”
Yoko looks jubilant and leaves the ringside area with Mr Fuji. Hogan is helped to his feet by officials and the crowd applaud and start a Hogan chant. Hogan looks choked up and leaves the ring acknowledging the ovation he has received. He’s more despondent than usual, no flexing, no posing and a hush falls over the Vegas crowd. He holds up his arm before going through the curtain.
Jim Ross on commentary “I gotta admit I’m in shock......is that the last we’ve seen of Hulk Hogan in the World Wrestling Federation?” Heenan quips “We can hope! So long Hogan! Let’s hope it’s for good this time!” Gorilla chimes in “Well I’ve known the Hulkster for a long time and I’m sure he’s not gonna go out like that!.....In any event we have Todd Pettengill in the crowd in the world’s largest toga party here at Wrestlemania IX, watcha got for us Todd?...”
We go to Todd Pettengill still in the crowd , he talks to various members of the audience about the WWF Championship match as well as what we just saw between Hogan and Yokozuna. All of a sudden Todd is cut off and we hear Bobby Heenan from the ring....
“Alright can I have some silence from you idiot gamblers here in the crowd tonight......It’s time for you to observe true perfection. Ladies and gentleman may I introduce to you, the future of the World Wrestling Federation, the reflection of perfection, the most physically perfect specimen to ever grace the World Wrestling Federation and the man that is gonna destroy Razor Ramon tonight, the Narcissist.......Lex Lugerrrrr”
Luger makes his way to the ring surrounded by bikini clad ladies holding mirrors. Bobby Heenan continues to compliment him on his body while he walks to the ring. “Look at him!! Those legs, the torso! Those women are in awe of him, they can barely hold those mirrors for him!!!” Luger finally makes it into the ring as the crowd boo, fireworks go off around the mirrors as Luger disrobes.
After a brief pause, Razor Ramon’s music hits to a huge ovation!! Razor comes out in his purple attire. Ramon makes his usual cool entrance to the ring, throwing the toothpick at Bobby Heenan right before the bell.

Luger whips Ramon off the ropes and catches him coming back with a hard elbow sending Razor crashing to the mat. Luger goes for an early cover but only gets a two count. The crowd cheer Razor on, as Luger applies a chin lock. As Razor is fading, Ramon suddenly starts to feed off the crowd and gets to his feet! Razor pushes Luger into the ropes and catches him coming back with a huge back body drop! Razor hits Luger with several right hands and then a series of hip tosses. Razor shoulder blocks Luger to the outside and riles the crowd up in the ring! Heenan tends to Luger on the outside. The match continues to be back and forth both men trading power moves, including Luger hitting a gorilla press slam to Razor and Ramon hitting a fallaway slam to Luger! Ramon calls for the Razor’s Edge and gets Luger up, however Luger climbs down from the position and chop blocks Ramon taking out Razor’s knee much to Heenan’s delight. Luger works on the knee for a period of time and gets into a position where the thinks the match is won. Luger is confident of victory so he climbs on to the second rope and flexes for the crowd. Razor has Heenan locked in position but out of nowhere, Luger clobbers Razor with that forearm knocking Ramon out! Luger saves Heenan and helps him out of the ring. The two go back to the locker room while Ramon lays motionless in the middle of the ring! Officials come out to help Ramon as Jim Ross on commentary calls for action about Luger’s forearm. “President Jack Tunney needs to do something about this! He has knocked out numerous competitors with the loaded forearm!” Gorilla then says “You’re right and I guess we’ve lost the weasel too for the main event!....what a pity huh!? Let’s go now to pre-recorded comments from the challenger for the WWF Championship......Macho Man Randy Savage!”
Mean Gene is standing by with Macho Man backstage “It’s almost time Randy.......tonight you have the chance to become a three time WWF champion, however to do that you need to get past the ‘excellence of execution’....the WWF Champion.....Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart. What are your thoughts going into this one?” Randy responds “My thoughts Mean Gene are that I am walking out of the Roman Colosseum as the new champion yehhh....you see I had a huge amount of respect for our champion but he decided to disrespect the Macho Man yehh by telling everybody that I WAS a great wrestler, well listen here Bret, tonight you’re gonna find out why I am STILL a great wrestler and still have it in me to take that title away from you! You’re getting all of the Macho Man tonight, the athletic, the flamboyant and maybe the lil crazy too and there is nothing I wont do to become a three time champion tonight uh huhh, my time aint done yet and this is the biggest match of my career this far, bigger than Hogan, bigger than Wrestlemania IV so ‘Hitman’ get ready!! Cos’ it’s gonna take more than a sharpshooter to keep me down!!”
We then go to Sean Mooney who is live backstage with the World Wrestling Federation champion, Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart. “Well ‘Hitman’ you’ve heard the comments from the challenger and you are only a few moments away from defending your title in the main event....are there any nerves going in to this match?” Bret smirks “Y’know Sean, you don’t become WWF Champion by being nervous. I respect the Macho Man and all his achievements and accolades but it’s not his time anymore. His time is finished and it’s time for me to lead the World Wrestling Federation into the new generation. I am the champion for a reason, I’ve beaten some of the greats in this industry and tonight I get to beat another one...we’ll see how macho he is when I lock him in the sharpshooter. Savage, you are an all time great, but now it is my time and tonight I’m proving that I am the excellence of execution and a worthy champion....” Bret leaves the interview area and Mooney throws back to ringside.
Jim Ross “Well this is going to be a doozy, it’s time for your Wrestlemania main event! Let’s go to Finkus Maximus for the announcements.”
“Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is scheduled for one fall with a one hour time limit and it is for the World Wrestling Federation Championship!!!” The crowd cheer as Randy Savage’s music plays throughout the arena to a big ovation! We see Macho Man on a throne carried by men dressed as Roman’s. Savage is clad in roman themed white and purple attire. Savage works the crowd after getting in the ring and poses on the top turnbuckle and receives a great ovation.
Bret Hart’s music hits and here comes the champion!! The fans give Bret a good ovation, some mixed reactions in the crowd. Bret does his usual pose in the ring with the belt around his waist. The two men are ready and the referee raises the championship belt.

Savage manages to counter and get Bret in a head scissors before Bret shifts his body into a handstand, pushing his body on top of Savage into a bridge before Savage executes a backslide, 1....2.....Bret kicks out and both men return to a standing stance. They tie up again and this time, Bret forces Savage into the corner and after breaking, Bret slaps Savage in the face! Savage then hits a series of elbow drops and goes for a cover but only a two count! Savage takes control of the match and rams Hitman’s head into into the top turnbuckle.
