Yeah, but we all pay for that toy also. Everybody should be treated equally, just because he was a jobber and runs a social media with a lot of followers shouldn’t get him things first and probably free just because he was in the WWE. I mean damn, I got over 1,000 followers on Twitter/IG,Tik Tok, YouTube or whatever, send me free items I’ll be glad to throw mine up if that’s all it takes You know he and Brian Myers are two HUGE reasons why the hobby not only survived but thrived? Influencers will ALWAYS get product before us. Especially when they have connections with suppliers. It's just how the world works. They have had ZERO impact on why I collect. To me, they could drop off the face of the earth and it would not bother me in the least.

No one ever said collecting was easy, at the end of the day it’s still just a toy. Yeah, but we all pay for that toy also. Everybody should be treated equally, just because he was a jobber and runs a social media with a lot of followers shouldn’t get him things first and probably free just because he was in the WWE. I mean damn, I got over 1,000 followers on Twitter/IG,Tik Tok, YouTube or whatever, send me free items I’ll be glad to throw mine up if that’s all it takes If you’re referring to Ryder and Hawkins, they’re buddy buddy with Bill at Mattel, and with RSC, so of course they get product early and probably even free.

It's just how the world works. The market for figures and collectibles was already trending upwards before their podcast started. Sure it was but wrestling figures themselves have never been this hot. It seems all the "cool kids" here like to minimize those two's impact on our slice of the toy pie. However, if it weren't for them, then myself and a handful of others that I know would NEVER have gotten back into wrestling figures. All I'm saying is that influencers are always forwarded certain perks, regardless of who it is. These two (in my OPINION) have had the single biggest influence on wrestling figure collecting over the past few years. The point still stands. Marketing 101 get your newest product into the hands of those with the biggest reach.

Saying that the Major Brothers are responsible for the uptick in interest in the line is one thing. Saying that they're responsible for its survival is something else entirely.
I really liked their podcast at first, but it quickly kinda took on a new life and became something more than I would ever want to be "part of". The "Major Marks" running around the internet parroting the lines and catch phrases they picked up off of the show are the worst.

Yeah I listened from the beginning and enjoyed them a lot but then their show became really bloated and kinda boring. Once they got into figure feds and devoted a good portion to talking about booking fake shows with figures I stopped listening.

Just chiming in on here. I don’t understand the hate on the Major Pod guys. They are legit wrestling fans and genuinely love action figures.
I have my Instagram figure page and YouTube channel and it really is a lot of work to keep up with. The 10 min figure reviews and figure photography takes a lot of time and commitment. I do it because I love action figures and I enjoy sharing my passion with other collectors. I also still work a full-time job as well as running my socials. It’s not always easy as people think to manage with your everyday life stuff like family or even other everyday tasks like maintaining your home or going grocery shopping.
I’m not saying you have to agree with them or even necessarily like them. But the Major Bros and all influencers work hard to showcase these figures.
Cardona & Myers have all their podcasts, patreon, live shows, YouTube videos, twitch, Instagram and still work as wrestlers and have families of their own. They have a following and have worked hard and continue to work hard. They aren’t simply given figures because they used to wrestle for the WWE.
I know this prob won’t change most opinions but I just wanted to give my insight on it.

I mean, I think people are articulating the reasons they may not care for the show or the personalities without it delving into "hate". For my money? That's at least part of what puts me off of them. It seems like nearly every opinion put out there that is contrary to the narrative that they're trying to build around their brand and their "community" is branded as "hate". That's ridiculous. It's perfectly reasonable, as you agreed, to disagree with them or not like them without it having to really be anything. The mantra their following seems to have that "you don't have to like them, but here's a laundry list of reasons why you should" is really weird and honestly not something I've experienced to such a large degree in just about any other medium that is subject to opinion. Just because I like wrestling figures doesn't mean I'm down with everyone else who likes wrestling figures.

Personally I like both guys. I’ve interacted with them both and they have always been super nice guys. Do I always agree with them, no but that’s the beauty of collecting and interacting with other collectors. It always great to get other people’s viewpoints on what a figure means to them. I can prob talk hours about the UE Hollywood alone lol. I think my take away is that some ppl think Ryder got the RS Warrior because he’s Zack Ryder. When I feel like he got it early because he has a big following and he will create even more excitement for it. He may even bring some non-collectors into the game who prob don’t even know this figure exists. That’s a win for us because more ppl are buying the product and mattel will find ways to pump out more figures and exclusives.

Funny that I just saw this thread exists. I just got off the phone with RSC Customer Service because I still haven't received my Warrior figure, either. The lady said that they're having trouble getting them through customs at the ports, which is what I just read when reading this thread. So, nothing new, sadly. Hopefully, we get them soon.

I gave up on them after the first year, when the show became dedicated to pushing their merch, and discussing whatever project they were working on next, and a little bit of figure talk there at the end.

Yeah, I also lost interest in the show after a year or so in. When there started being an emphasis on the fig fed stuff and constant shilling. No hate on them tho....I still think those bonus episodes where they did deep dives into the Hasbro and LJN lines were awesome. And if they were to do one on AWA Remco I would absolutely watch.

Yeah their fan base is another big reason why I don’t really follow em anymore. It’s a bunch of obsessed guys trying to buy up every piece of merch with their image on it all outbidding each other driving up the price to ridiculous amounts. I liked their Remco style figs but it’s not even worth fighting them for it or paying the extremely overpriced amounts to obtain them.

We just gonna ignore that every item they talk about shoots up in price immediately afterwards?

We just gonna ignore that every item they talk about shoots up in price immediately afterwards? Honestly, I'll fully cop to it being petty, but that's a big point of contention with them for me. In most cases, I'd say it's not their fault, but I still seeth from time to time because there is no reason why the Backlash BCA palette swapped Kane figure should be as high priced as it is on the secondary market, and it was never that bad until Broski talked about getting into a final minutes bidding war over it and pushing to something like $120.
