Throwin it Back!!!
Is it just me or do we maybe need a NBA Hardwood Classics series. or a NFL classics series..
I for one love the MLB Cooperstown set. But what !!about the rest.
I could definetly see a Chicago Bulls Micheal Jordan, or Charlotte Hornets Muggsy Bogues.. I think that would be insane..
Who else would you guys like to see in a NBA and NFL classics set?

NBA Legends is coming in 2005 but there is a good chance Jordan will not be in the line as McFarlane are having problems getting the rights to make his figure.

Jordan always wants too much profit... isn't that why he was rarely made in Staring Lineup form?

i saw mlb 9 at my TRU, 2 rivera, 1 jones, 1 helton, 1 ordonez.
im going to my other tru today, so ill see what i can get thier, im hoping to just get a nomar to open...

There were Jordan Starting Lineup figures like every year. I used to have 3 or 4 of them. No... not in the mid-later 90's... Back in the late 80's and early 90's he was released... but since like 1992 or so, the Dreamteam one was the last released I believe... I may be wrong, but I think he hasn't had a starting lineup in the past decade... |

You may be right. There was one in 93, and the Dream Team, but I guess I had quit buying them after that point anyway.
Of course, he retired after the 93 season, and then came back in the very end of the year in 94-95. Basically making it impossible for them to make one for two years. If I recall now, he was no longer a part of the NBAPA, which probably kept them from using his likeness, and also kept him out of video games at the time.
Oh well, that's what I get for trying to be smart.
I only have all Charles Barkley and Atlanta Hawks, Braves, and Falcons SLU.

I thought he had a deal with Starting Lineups because they put out a lot of Jordans. I remember seeing a lot of Jordans and some box sets with a bunch of Jordans in them. I guess it could be a different company but I remember seeing Jordan figures in the later 90s.

I guess it could be a different company but I remember seeing Jordan figures in the later 90s. I think you may be talking about the line from Mattel. It was called "Maximum Air" and there were about 6 figures that had him in poses/jerseys from various milestones in his career (All Star Game/Finals). I believe Mattel also came out with a box set as well. I bought a couple of the Maximum Air figures but never completed the full set of six. |

I found some amazing NHL McFarlane stores in West Edmonton Mall, they had everything imaginable, so many varients and alright prices. I picked up NHL 6 Roy and NHL 5 Cloutier, they had about three of each of those. They had.........everything. EDIT: Ok now my friends from NS are gone back home...  but I'll write a more detaailed review of what I remember. For starters, I don't remember the name of the store, but their is a website on the bag they put my figures in, I'll be going there soon enough. I walked in and the first thing I saw was a varient NHL 7 Hasek, I was pretty pumped since I've NEVER found a varient ANYWHERE. Boy, was I in for a shock... I looked around in this section which was by no means small, but not massive. It was from floor to ceiling and about five figures wide. It was all mroe recent stuff, alot of Haseks and Gigueres. There were three varient Hasek's and no vareint Gigueres, but about ten regs. of him. That was all I remember from that section. Then I noticed that behind the counter, there was a loose varient NHL 5 Nordiques Sakic. I was in shock, I thought I was going to piss in my pants, it was only $20.00! But it had everything except a base, I was pretty mad beucase I would have bought it, but I don't have a spare base. I also noticed some NHLPA figures that McFarlane made before NHL series 1 and I saw Patrick Roy so I was pretty pumped, even though I already have it. Then I heard my cousin Tim call my name from the back of the sotre, I walked over to see the biggest selection of NHL McFarlanes I have ever laid eyes on, my mouth just dropped. They had jsut sold out of NHL 8 minus one varient Ed Belfour. I would have bought it, but I'm going to wait until that series is no longer in stores before I buy it from a collectors shop. I saw vareints of NHL 6 Naslund, NHL 5 Cloutier, NHL 7 Gaborik, NHL (4?) Kovalchuk and oh man...TONS more! I saw alot of awesome regs. too, like NHL 1 Theodore. I wanted the Roy alot more and the Cloutier just as much, but the Cloutier was $45.00 cheaper than Theodore so I'm going to go back later this week to get Theodore. They also had NHL 1 Brodeur for only $50.00 Canadian! I was amazed! I definitely would have bought it if I didn't have it already. I also found two other sotres on the upper level of the mall, right beside eachother. Those stores were more expensive. I saw a retro varient NHL 7 Forsberg, I was so excited but it was $70.00 and I didn't want to spend that much, I'd already bought the Roy and Cloutier which was $65.00 in total, plus I found the Canucks road jersey on sale for $75.00 so I bought it and had it sent away for cresting (Naslund baby YEAH!!) so I'd spent about $200.00 already that day. And I also saw the Winnepeg Jets Selane but that was $80.00. Over all amazing day, here are some price ranges so you guys can get an idea, incase you wanted anything that I saw and I could pick it up for you. These are all Canadian prices.
