So recently, a few months ago, a user by the name of Graslu00 started uploading videos of him running the cancelled N64-to-360 arcade port on an Xbox 360 emulator for the PC. He also ran it on a dev kit (or jtag/rgh) in some videos.
While he would not provide a leak, he did say "it will come out"--and it did.
Here's an interesting video on how it may have leaked: (it talks about how Microsoft would attempt to destroy Dev/Test Kits by taking them to Landfills, and Chinese would piece them back together and sell them online, and anyone with one could go on PartnerNet and download stuff...Goldeneye was on there for one hour back in 2007, which may be the origins of this long awaited leak)
And here's one where a gamer uses the toggle switch from the game to showcase the differences between the remastered, 60FPS version, and the original N64 build:
Last but not least, there's actually some dedicated online servers to this. Here's a fun video of some online play I was a part of the other day: (and if you notice, there is no split screen!)
Oddjob gets shot in the nuts in that last video, spoiler alert.
Have you tried out the Goldeneye XBLA version yet? It's better than the Perfect Dark remaster, leaps and bounds. A travesty this thing was never officially released, but still wonderful that it is pretty much 100% complete and playable now today.
I find old video game builds ultra fascinating, like Resident Evil 1.5 and crap like that. So this is right up my alley. I dunno how many people here will even remember the original Goldeneye for N64... but if you do... especially if you can play sometime--shoot me a message!

It’s a shame this was never officially released. It looks great just like the Perfect Dark remaster.
From what I read, it was super close to release until someone high up at Nintendo nixed it entirely.
I love you.
