He didn't speak much English & wasn't getting used for well over a year besides being on Jakked & Metal. Good wrestler but the Light Heavyweight division was not focused on at all while he was there.
The pairing with Lita actually had him featured on TV regularly for a brief period. But it was quickly realized she would be a better fit with others.

Plus, Lita spoke Spanish. She was pretty much his translator.

His moonsault in No Mercy on N64 is still a beautiful sight.

He debuted (as Essa) in February 2000. He was exciting to watch for about 2 months, having some great matches including with Eddie. Then they began making him abusive towards Lita and gave up on him after about 3 months. Then he faded into obscurity.
He was released in mid-2001 and returned to Mexico, only occasionally appearing in the US like TNA in 2004 for the World X cup.
It's a shame because he was really talented and definitely would have fit well in WCW's Cruiserweight division. He could have been used better in 2002 in WWE's Cruiserweight division. But probably preferred being in Mexico.
He lacked charisma and didn't connect with the crowd.

I always loved playing as him in SmackDown 2. I think it was a case of him being in the right place at the wrong time - if he'd come in a couple of years later, I could see him being an integral part of the Cruiserweight Division on SmackDown.

I remember when he debut on Heat and took the Light heavyweight of Gilllberg. He was a great wrestler but sadly just in the wrong era.

His moonsault in No Mercy on N64 is still a beautiful sight. Dude, I came in to say the very same thing lol. And when I discovered his corner dragonrana, ugh, people have no idea how somebody can get over from the weirdest stuff haha. I was him so much in the games I became a fan in real life!
