I don’t want to come off as complaining, because I absolutely love Mattel’s product overall. Been collecting for the past few years, and these ultimate edition figures aesthetically look great. But these torsos are horrible and really hold me back from buying the majority of them. These ultimates are supposed to have superior articulation, but how is that possible when the torso articulates less than the normal elites. Mattel should really look into retooling the torsos. I’m okay with diaphragm design, but maybe they should take a page from what WCT/Jazzwares is doing with the lower ab joint.

Macho man and Lesnar torso have great movement, the problem I see is extra plastic below chest region that hinder articulation.

If they could make the lower portion of the diaphragm joint a softer piece, it’d be 10x’s better. You can actually get more of a wide range of motion with it. Similar to Storm Collectibles, MAFEX, or S.H. Figuarts.

It’s great articulation designed badly. Some of them are really good like Brock & Charlotte and E80 Bayley is basically an ultimate torso. I think it’s just growing pains and they’ll get better over time
That said AEW is still far superior on parts

100% agree. The Ultimates are nice overall but that chest articulation looks awful. The only reason I bought Hollywood and Machoman are because I collect their figures. They really need to take a page out of Jazwares line and figure out how to blend the torso better.
