In 2002, was there plans for the Klique to actually become a in ring group of Hall, Nash, HBK, HHH and X Pac
I feel like i have read stuff on it
but backstage, everyone hated it
plus Hall's demons and Nash's injuries hurt that

No, I don't think so. I feel that it was meant to be the NWO then.
Now however, in 1997 when HBK and Triple H got together, it has been much discussed between a friend and me that if Kevin Nash had remained in the WWF then and not went to WCW, that he would no doubt be in Rick Rude's place in the DX group.

With how bad WWE's version of the NWO was, they shouldve just had the Kliq be an on screen faction as soon as HBK came into the picture

I remember the dirt sheets at the time reporting that HHH wanted nothing to do with the nWo or Kliq at the time since he just returned and was trying to become the top babyface of the company. They had a few teases in the spring of 2002 that he’d join them but I doubt it.
I remember the sheets also reporting in ‘98 and ‘99 that when Nash and Hall unsuccessfully tried getting out of their contracts that they intended to go back to the WWF and join DX (which would have made sense). The only thing I question in this scenario is how does HHH’s momentum get affected. He needed to lead DX for a year to help give him some credibility, and Hall and Nash coming in would no doubt slow that push down if not outright kill it for the time being.

You know had they done this it could've eventually led to an nWo vs DX feud.
The overflowing star power of the group could've caused them to split into their two previous factions and go to war.

We never got a real answer for the plans in '02 before nash's injury.
Looking back, i would think HBK wouldn't have had a match as quick as he did, HHH would have teased for weeks if he would join nWo or not, he did turn heel right away anyway. IMO HHH would have joined and turned heel, then Nash/HHH would kind of have a feud for leader of nWo going to Nash getting kicked out and turning face to a HHH/Nash feud maybe end of '02. When HBK would return to the ring i dont know, but I don't think it would have been as soon as Summer Slam.
I do believe they were going to have the "Kliq" onscreen as nWo in 2002, no doubt that was the plan (Without hall obviously) for a short while anyway.
They also did a HHH/Nash feud right when Nash came back, so to me this would have been a possible path if no one got hurt.

When Nash went down with the quad injury, they were still pushing HHH as a face despite his face run having mostly died out by King of the Ring. Rumors at the time pointed to HHH not wanting to work with the nWo as he wanted to remain a face, but I think Nash going down really put creative in a bad spot (right around the time Austin walked out too). That injury seemed to speed up both HHH’s heel turn and HBK’s return to the ring.
If Nash doesn’t go down, I see it going one of two ways...HHH remains a face and he eventually works against Nash and the nWo as they were the top heels on the show outside of Taker at the time (who hadn’t been moved to Smackdown yet), or he turns heel, joins the nWo/KLIQ, and eventually turns on them to create Evolution (which leads to HHH vs Nash and HBK at some point).
The only thing I think is an absolute is HHH and Brock staying apart. Whether HHH remained a face or turned heel, I don’t see them forcing a match between the two. These were the two guys Vince wanted to build around and likely didn’t want either to loose to the other, so I always see Brock moving to Smackdown while HHH remains the top guy on Raw.

Wasn't Taker and even HHH negative to Nash and Hall coming in?

Wasn't Taker and even HHH negative to Nash and Hall coming in? I don’t remember HHH being against them coming in (they were all buddies, and HHH and Nash were reportedly closer at the time than HHH and HBK), just that he didn’t want to feud with them or be booked with them due to it potentially overshadowing his return and face run. Others like Austin, Taker, and WCW alumni were reportedly hesitant with them coming in due to their politicking history in WCW. I don’t remember it being reported that anybody outright said no, but a lot of performers weren’t fans of the move.

HHH nixed any involvement with the nWo feud from the sidelines. Early nucleus of the plan was Vince wanted it to be Austin, HHH & Taker feuding with them.
Undertaker was so against it he pushed for a heel turn & did so after Survivor series 01. Still one if the most surprising turns ever.
There were tons of moving parts here in late 01 & early 02.
