I mean it’s no different than majority of past wrestlers, you work for the company then leave. It’s not like he killed somebody and got fired for it.

When they let Kurt Angle go, they offered him a Legends deal (that he turned down). It's possible they did the same thing, but I doubt it unless they have his brother signed already. I don't see Ray getting signed without Jacques anyways. Obviously, Raymond isn't the same as Kurt, but giving $10K or so on the way out might help smooth things over.

Not that it matters, but the article incorrectly states that the Rougeaus were tag champs at some point.

Not that it matters, but the article incorrectly states that the Rougeaus were tag champs at some point. While it was never "officially" acknowledged by the WWF, they did in fact beat the Hart Foundation at a House Show in 1987 and were announced as the New WWF Tag Team Champions.

Weren’t we supposed to get the Fabulous Rougeau Brothers in the 2nd wave of the the TRU Legends 2-packs before they were canceled?

This has literally nothing to do with any chances of them getting figures. Merchandising deals are separate from talent deals.

Has there ever been a Rougeau Brothers figure? Is Jacques not on good terms with the WWE? Very toy-etic. Jackets and mini flags would be nice.

This has literally nothing to do with any chances of them getting figures. Merchandising deals are separate from talent deals. That's not always true. For most talent, merchandise is included in their contract. I don't think everyone on the WWE roster is signing two contracts.
I believe that Mattel has stated before that just because somebody works for WWE (backstage, trainer, office, announcer, producer, etc.) doesn't mean that they necessarily have the rights to make figures of that person. I don't believe that they said that their normal contract can never include merchandise rights or that they have to have a separate deal.
It sounds like Eric Bischoff had merchandise rights when he briefly returned behind the scenes. Kurt Angle is another example as he transitioned to a producer and wasn't signed to a Legends deal, but I believe he still had merchandise.
And I disagree that this doesn't have any impact on the chances or probability of a figure being released anytime soon. I think it would be easier to get a current employee signed to a Legends/merchandise deal than one that we fired/let go at a later date. Raymond could be signed to a Legends deal already so maybe the speculation is pointless.
Regardless, I think it is good when news like this is posted on the board so other people are aware of current events. I mean there are people that actually think that Mike Tyson is possible for this year's SDCC exclusive when I'm pretty sure he is involved in AEW right now.

The only thing I remember is a couple years ago, he complained about his son's tryout. The article mentioned that Jacques implied that he was blackballed from WWE and that might have hurt his son's chances and went off on other rants. I don't think that it mentioned why he thought he was blackballed.
You can read more about at that and his current relationship with Ray/WWE:

I know there's legit heat between Jacques and Kevin Owens too, stemming back to the time that Owens trained under Jacques. Don't know how much that would affect things, but it could be another item on the list. Plus there's the whole thing where the RMCP gets their longjohns in a twist over the Mountie getting a figure.
