So we know the New Gen gets a lot of flack for the terrible stories and characters they produced, but the era also produced its fair share of memorable ones as well. Just wondering who was everyone’s favorite New Gen star back in the day? I personally consider the New Gen spanning from mid-1992 to the end of 1996, but that’s just personal opinion and the lines are blurry between eras so really up to anyone.
Had to go with Diesel. I was born in 1990 and started watching full time in 1994. It’s a tough choice between Diesel and Bret for me, but as a kid, Diesel gave off that extra “badass” vibe that drew me to him (even as a face). If Diesel was my 1A, Bret was 1B.

I have the New Generation Era lasting from 1992-1997 and Shawn Michaels and Lex Luger were my 2 favorites from that time in the WWF.

Gotta give the nod to Bret but I was a fan of pretty much everyone on this list.
Luger is my least though as I HATED his USA gimmick but loved the Narcissist(it shouldve had a longer run damnit!)

To me the New Generation started the day Bret Hart won the WWF Title from Ric Flair in October 1992 and ended when Shawn Michaels won the WWF Title from Bret Hart at Survivor Series 97.
With that being said, my favourite was, is, and always will be..... "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel!!
I legit have a New Generation collection. A shelf of it all. The WWF magazines from Oct. 1992 with Tatanka on the cover till April 1998 with HBK/Austin on the cover because after that the magazines changed to the WWF scratch logo for the Attitude Era. I have the figures, the CDs, the Funko Pops, the VHS tapes. Loved that era so much!

I like everyone on this list, but the work Bret did in the New Gen has literally never been topped. Classic match after classic match.

I always liked Diesel, his finisher was awesome at that time. I liked all those guys though.
The late 80’s/ early 90s are my pinnacle of wrestling, but the New Generation was when they really started pumping out product I was old enough to appreciate. That’s around the time I really remember going to Toys R Us and picking out a figure, rather than my parents just bringing it home for me. I really started playing with my wrestlers as if I was putting on a show, not just like slamming them on my ring haha.
I really appreciate that era because it reminds me of all my Bone Crunchers figures in real life as well as video games. WrestleMania the arcade game, In Your House the game, Warzone...these things really made impressions on me at that time. The wrestling in ring had kind of evolved along with my age, it was a more impressive match as opposed to a more impressive look which was better for small kids. (I use to try to watch WCW Saturday Night as a youngster and I couldn’t ever make it past the Johnny B Badd openers lol) I love that era all around though, so many fond memories.
