I feel fairly certain that this is the attire from the "reference photo." As we've seen time and time again, Mattel's colors can be way off. I don't see them doing that duller green correctly.
If you could describe the real attire as "yellow boots, blue knee pads, and medium-to-brighter green trunks," what we got is what Mattel's version of this would look like, IMO.

Seems like someone pinned that attire down to a match in summer '86. I'll see if I can find it.

Although I can say with almost 100% certainty he probably did wear the neon green trunks, blue knee pads and yellow boots combination seeing he seemed to have a rotation of trunks with with both the yellow and blue knee pads. |

I just gave the AS Macho yellow knee pads and made him Wrestlefest accurate. I got tired of not finding the actual match. I’ve spent more time than I’d like to admit looking for a reference shot of the AS attire because I love the green trunks.
I kind of wonder if the attire was based on concept art or an early design by THQ for the actual All Stars game. So it’s made up, but Bill did get reference photos for it. Either that or it’s just supposed to be the dull green (SvS87 opening), and Mattel got the color wrong. Or maybe they just wanted to do the neon to make it look cooler.

In the image above, it looks like the trunks are orange, the knee pads are green and the boots are yellow. There was another point in that video where there was a full back view of the trunks and you could see they were neon green. But almost every “close” view of the knee pads they looked greenish. |

Was it good? I set the DVR to record the series, but it didn’t do last nights episode. Like others have said, it was good though there wasn't much new. My buddy thought they buried him and hated it, and they definitely didn't go easy on him. Gorgeous George gives good insight but the stuff she talks about is all fairly unpleasant (some of it was news to me, though). My biggest beef was they talk about Liz a lot and try to make her out to be the innocent angel rather than the grown woman who made her own decisions. Hogan is on there, too, making himself out to be the other innocent angel we know he isn't, but that's no surprise. Overall, it's definitely worth watching. |
