Hey y'all, it's the first packed house in wrestling since The Thing started over a year ago. This crowd will be rocking and so will this thread! Remember to keep things polite. Wrestling tastes can be different, but if someone has a different opinion than you don't be a d*ck. These live threads are great so let's not give mods a reason to shut it down during the live show.
Last year's Stadium Stampede was a very divisive match. The word going around is that this year's match will match the intensity of the feud between the Inner Circle & Pinnacle. There's a lot on the line in this match. Pinnacle needs another big win to really establish themselves as a dominant stable. If the Inner Circle loses, they disband. The stakes are high and so are the expectations. AEW really needs this to land after two major matches having dud finishes.
It's been an odd build, but this wrestling version of rock/paper/scissors should be an absolute blast. Omega and Pac are arguably 1a & 1b in the best wrestler conversation, and Orange Cassidy's stock continues to rise. Will Omega be able to hold onto his title? Will The Bastard finally claim his crown and be AEW Champion? Will Orange Cassidy have the most chill title celebration ever?
Hikaru Shida has carried the women's division for a year after her impressive match against Nyla Rose at last year's DoN. Britt Baker has been scratching and clawing her way to the top ever since her awkward promo on the Jericho cruise. After Sunday night the legendary Shida run will continue, or we will be in the new era of D.M.D.
The Young Bucks have dominated tag team wrestling for years. Moxley and Kingston have only had a handful of matches as a team. However, the sheer brutality of the two men has made this newly formed team the favorites in many eyes. The Young Bucks have embraced their dark side, but will it be enough to put down these two wild dogs? What would the tag division look like with Mox & Eddie at the helm?
In a time where most Americans are disenfranchised by politics and their fellow man, can Cody be the rallying point we need to be united as a country again? In short, no. BUT, these two men are in a Country vs Country feud that harkens back to the territory days of yore and that's cool af. Ogogo has legit worldwide star potential, could this Sunday be his coming out party as he takes down The American Nightmare Dream? The crowd should be really hot for this one, I for one hope there's a plethora of American flags in the crowd.
Miro is now the face of TNT and what a terrifying screaming face it is. Archer has been looking for a huge, defining win in AEW. No matter who will walk away with the title, we win.
Sting's first match since Tyler Black almost crippled him. Darby will be bumping his ass off the entire time. Ethan and Scorpio will continue to be jags. #TeamJustAGuy
Hangman is looking to get his win back over Brian Cage. Will Hangman whoop ass and drink? Yes. Will Cage be the largest spot monkey of all time? Yes.
Who will be the Joker this year? Will they too botch their first move? Will anyone but Christian win? Unlikely, but AEW is great at Battle Royales so this will be pretty fun.
Sereena Deeb (quite possibly the best woman wrestling today) will be defending her NWA Championship against a 40 lb teenager Riho. Riho is the queen of flash pins and Deeb has started to show a pretty brutal side as of late.
There have been plenty of surprises teased too. Will someone else show up like Mox did 2 years ago? Probably not, BUT this should be a stellar show top to bottom.

So, Miro annihilates Darby next week, leaving Darby/sting vs sky/page at Revolution? Seems to be where they're heading.

If Miro wins the TNT title should he face Archer at the ppv or would that be too soon? I’d rather a match like that get more build.

I'm terrified that they're actually going to give Orange the title shot since Omega already won a feud against PAC last year.
I'm just saying... Scotty 2 Hotty was a very entertaining talent and character... but it doesn't mean I wanna see him face Triple H for the World Championship at Summerslam

If I were the booker, I would at some point have Orange Cassidy win the title on Dynamite. Could be in two months, two years, whatever. Get the shock win, be champ, and then drop it back to whoever he beat the following week or very shortly thereafter. Just what I would personally like to see. As for this PPV, I would prefer it to be PAC. I'd love to see Omega vs. Cassidy too, but I'd rather see that happen on an upcoming Dynamite after Omega beats PAC here.

Updated. Can't add Miro vs Archer or Darby/Sting vs Sky/Ego yet, but this card is stacked so far.

I didn't come up with this idea, but I want Cody vs. Ogogo to just be a five minute elaborate Cody entrance before Ogogo just punches him and wins in seconds.

Whatever puts this outdated sham of a story to bed. The sooner, the better. The only way it fails is if Cody doesn’t have some cool patriotic attire that will translate into an impressive looking figure. Patriotic attires always look impressive. As for the match I personally look at the match as a fun little throwback to the 80’s-90’s and Dusty. And no different than I would look at the Olympics or the World Cup where it’s just fun to root for your country. I can separate the real world and it’s issues from Pro wrestling. Pro wrestling is entertainment and is a fun fantasy. I watch wrestling to get a break from real world issues. Now that said once the match starts I don’t care how the match came about (patriotism, feud, just thrown together, etc) or who wins or loses all I care about is that they give 100% and have an entertaining match. The only time I care about the winner is if I feel the person with the title has been failing to make the title believable then I want the title off them. And that’s pretty much how I have watched wrestling since WCW ended.

Pure wishful speculation. One of FTR tweeted Gable two months ago hinting that he only had two months left on his contract. Would lose my goddamn mind if it expires in the next week and he was the Joker.
Nick Gage is possible given the rumors that he was supposed to be the Joker last year, but it seems like a weird decision given he's already started his program with Mox and Mox has a different match.
I don't really have any other guess right now. Bryan Danielson would be insane but given he doesn't want to go full time and would basically need to win the match I dunno.
Speedball doesn't have his visa stuff sorted yet.

It’s Brock Lesnar no doubt. They promised a huge surprise it’s gotta be him. If it’s not him I’m gonna write mean things online about how AEW always under delivers.

He should come out dressed like Apollo Creed. Anything less and what's even the point? I am thinking something along the lines of his tights being half blue and half white. With some white stars on the blue leg. Then the parts that are usually the snake skin pattern/print be done in red print and white outlines. Maybe with a jacket similar to Sting’s GAB ‘90 jacket. I think that would look sharp in figure form on my shelves.

I seem to dislike patriotic attires for some reason. Well, as it pertains to figures at least. Not that I’m an unpatriotic person, but I’m not exactly patriotic either. It’s just not that important to me I guess.
