...alternative?
In the late 2000s TNA was a great alternative to the WWE; even though they weren't competition, they got tremendous former WWE, WCW, and ECW guys like Rhino, Sting, Raven, Angle, Christian, Jarrett, RVD, Booker T, Jeff Hardy, etc., grew new stars like Abyss, Styles, Joe, Daniels, Storm, Roode, Sabin, and others, and even had legends like Piper and Savage appear time-to-time. They pushed guys WWE had always overlooked as potential main eventers like Bubba Dudley, Ken Anderson, and Matt Hardy. I personally liked the six-sided ring. The X-Division was amazing in its prime. Most of the aforementioned workers were still around for the early 2010s arrival of Hogan, Bischoff, and Flair, though many argue at least two of those names helped kill the company. Around 2014 seemed to be the end. Flair and Hogan went back, Foley went back a few years before. Styles left for Japan, in '16 Angle left, and by the time it was all said and done Impact just stopped being a high-level alternative, in terms of size. It is experiencing a bit of a resurgence now with its AEW partnership, but it'll never be like it was. What do you think TNA could have done differently to perhaps still be what it was, and even end up as big as AEW is today? If you could go back in time, would you have kept Hogan (if you had the power to stop his exit) or allowed him to leave? What could have kept Styles and Angle? Would you have kept the NWA Title around?

I would have never brought hogan and his gang in. He absolutely killed it.
Mick foley too, it seemed to change when he came in as well.

No Russo, no Carter, keep Cornette, pay the originals the top contracts. Like Joe, Styles, Daniels, Abyss, ect. Keep Angle happy, unfortunately Christian didn't want to stay. If I remember correctly, he just wanted to prove he could be a main event guy before going back to WWE. Rhino, Sting, Raven, Steiner, ect. could stay in the main event. Maybe push the X Division close to the main event.

Just be an alternative instead of trying to be the Wwe and obsess over what they were doing.

Never hire Vince Russo. TNA was a hot property from 2010-2013, but Dixie Carter's infatuation with him ruined everything.

I disagree with the premise. I think it's still essentially where it always was. It's never going to be able to rival WWE, but AEW won't do that either.

They waited too late to bring their "home grown talent" up to the main event level. While it looked good in the ratings to constantly have Kurt Angle and Sting as champion, it was hurting their long term. There's glimpses in 08-09 where guys like Joe and AJ were able to push through but MEM destroying everyone for almost a year with minor to no repercussions killed a lot of momentum. Hogan and Bischoff coming up essentially signaled that TNA was going to focus on what names they could sign as opposed to trying to push guys like Roode, Storm, Daniels, Sabin, etc... I mean hell who in their right mind thought bringing in the Nasty Boys or Bubba The Love Sponge was a good idea? The hardcore fans of the 2003-2007 TNA were fading out with the new (old) product and most fans of guys from the 90's had tuned out.
I would have cut off the signing of former mega stars after they signed Kurt Angle. Guys like Booker, Foley, Flair, Hogan they did nothing for TNA. Use legends sparingly for a feud here and there and let the current stars shine and grow.

Aj is one of my favs of all time and at a point I was more into TNA than I was WWE but yea the constant holding down of the talent I wanted to see flourish. Aj, Joe. MCMG, etc and the pickup and push of every single ex Wwe guy just got me to a point where I stopped watching.

Well, if that's true, then that's a shame, but I think they're doing enough to be one of the top 4 companies.

Dixie Carter may have a business degree but she has zero knowledge about running a wrestling promotion. I wouldn't have been hiring all the former WWE talent. I sure as hell wouldn't hire Vince Russo. When he was with the WWF he had a filter stopping his stupid ideas, that was Vince who would reject them. Giving Russo free range in creative is a bad idea. WCW was a prime example of that. I would have kept the six sided ring which gave TNA a unique look of identity. I wouldn't have let the network hopping happen either. How many times did TNA switch channels since leaving Spike? I've lost count.

Disagree, but they for absolutely sure never should have eliminated the six sided ring. It doesn't really matter to me, but a lot of fans really loved that for how unique it was.

What's wrong with the Nasty Boys? Honestly, feel like the Jordan thing was done more for shock value because of how many people it would so obviously and easily piss off, and if it wasn't it for sure should have been.

Was anybody seriously interested in seeing a Nasty Boys vs Team 3D feud...in 2010?
